2025 Fantasy Outlook
Landeskog underwent quadriceps surgery during the 2020 postseason, followed by knee surgeries in March of 2022 and again in October of 2022, before having cartilage replacement surgery on his knee in May of 2023. He missed the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 regular seasons before making his long-awaited return to the lineup in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avalanche captain notched one goal and three assists in five outings during the team's first-round series loss to Dallas. Still, it was an encouraging development in a long road back to action for the 32-year-old forward. He has high-risk, high-reward potential in the 2025-26 campaign. Landeskog will likely occupy a top-six role and see time on the first power-play unit, but his ability to stay healthy remains a significant question mark. Read Past Outlooks
Fills empty net
Landeskog scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.
ANALYSIS
Landeskog's overturned goal count is still higher than his actual (three to two). He had one taken back earlier in this game before finding the empty-net to seal the win. The 32-year-old's ability to get the puck to the net -- even when it hasn't been rewarded -- is an encouraging sign for his production the rest of the way. He's managed six points, 26 shots on net, 28 hits, 19 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 18 appearances this season in a third-line role.

Despite missing the last two years after undergoing multiple knee surgeries, Landeskog is not yet ready to retire. The 31-year-old last played in the 2022 playoffs, producing 22 points in 20 games during the Avalanche's championship year. Given his lengthy absence, there are no guarantees as to how often he'll be able to play, how long he'll stay healthy if cleared to return or how productive he'll be. Fantasy managers may want to consider Landeskog given his past as a reliable 30-goal, 55-point producer, but he should be nothing more than a late-round dart throw in drafts this fall.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Working with No. 2 power-play unit
Landeskog, who has been sidelined with a long-term knee injury, was working with the second power-play unit ahead of Wednesday's Game 3 clash with Dallas, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Landeskog looks poised to make his first NHL appearance since June of 2022, though it wouldn't be a shock to see him officially labeled a game-time decision. In addition to seeing ice time with the man advantage, Landeskog will likely slot into a middle-six role for the Avs and could push further up the depth chart once he gets his legs under him.
