Exits Thursday's game
Brindley (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
Brindley was initially injured in the first period. He tried to tough it out at the start of the second but couldn't continue in the contest. The Avalanche are already a bit thin at forward, so Brindley's absence could be troublesome if he's out beyond Thursday.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Future top-six player?
Head coach Jared Bednar relayed Tuesday that he believes Brindley can be a top-six forward in the NHL, per Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.
ANALYSIS
Brindley landed a two-year contract extension with the Avalanche earlier Tuesday, which comes on the heels of strong performances in Edmonton and Vancouver this past weekend. As for Brindley's outlook going forward, Bednar said, "I think he can be a top-six forward in this league. He plays bigger than his size; the motor, the relentlessness, the skill level and the brain to go with it is all there. I think his ceiling is really high." Considering the depth Colorado has up front, the 21-year-old will likely continue to be limited to bottom-six duties this season, but he is trending in the right direction and could take on a larger role if injuries arise.
