2025 Fantasy Outlook
Setting a new career-high mark in goals is a good way to make a first impression on your new team and fanbase, and that’s exactly what DeBrusk did in his first year with the Canucks. The 28-year-old potted 28 goals last season, eclipsing the mark of 27 he set twice in his career, most recently in 2022-23. Much of that damage came on the power play where he scored 14 times, his first season scoring double-digit goals with the man advantage. He scored on 16.4 percent of his shots on goal, slightly above his career mark of 13.0 percent, so he may regress a bit. Regardless, the Canucks must get more from their forwards in order to truly unlock DeBrusk’s full abilities. If they can do that, DeBrusk, now in the prime of his career, is a candidate for his first 30-goal season as a pro in 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks
Point streak reaches three games
DeBrusk recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.
ANALYSIS
This is the fourth time this season DeBrusk has posted a point streak of at least three games, and the 29-year-old winger continues to be one of the few fantasy viable options on the Canucks roster. He's up to 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 61 games, putting him on pace to reach the 40-point plateau for the fifth consecutive campaign.

Seven years in Boston came to an end for DeBrusk when the free-agency window opened and the winger signed a seven-year, $38.5 million contract with Vancouver. The hard-working forward missed the 20-goal mark this past season by just one tally but was still able to reach the 40-point threshold for the fifth time in his seven-year NHL career. The Edmonton native should be in contention for the top power-play unit with his new club, which should help him get back to generating 20-plus goals during the 2024-25 campaign. In fact, with a strong supporting cast and a top-six assignment, DeBrusk might be capable of topping his 2022-23 numbers when he set personal bests in both goals (27) and points (50).

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not interested in rebuild
DeBrusk could ask to be traded after telling reporters Tuesday, "Obviously, that rebuild is not something I would be okay with or accepting," Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.
ANALYSIS
DeBrusk is currently stuck in an eight-game goal drought during which he registered three assists, 19 shots and four blocks. Moving the 29-year-old winger could be complicated, considering he is in just the second season of a seven-year deal he signed with the club in July of 2024. Unless DeBrusk can turn it on over the stretch run, he could miss the 20-goal mark for the second time in the last three years.
