2025 Fantasy Outlook
Dobes made the most of his first taste of NHL action, earning a 7-4-3 record with a 2.74 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 16 games with the Canadiens. He surpassed Cayden Primeau for the backup role early in 2024-25. Dobes also posted a .881 save percentage over three playoff games. Dobes isn't going to push Sam Montembeault out of the starting role any time soon, and Primeau will likely be working hard in training camp to regain the backup job. For fantasy, Dobes is a fine option in deep formats behind a Canadiens team that's on the rise, but he's still largely inexperienced entering his age-24 season. Read Past Outlooks
Leading man continues to win
Dobes made 17 saves in a 3-1 win over Toronto on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Dobes has two wins in a row, and he's 6-1-1 with 23 goals allowed in his nine starts since Jan. 27. He has started four of the team's last five games (3-1-0) and eight of the last 11. The Habs (80 points), who are third in the Atlantic, remain in a dogfight with the Red Wings (79 points) and Bruins (78 points), who are currently sitting in wild-card spots. Dobes is clearly their man in the blue paint right now ahead of Sam Montembeault.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Starting for second straight night?
Dobes is resting instead of participating in the morning skate, which might be an indication that he'll start on the road against Ottawa on Wednesday, per Claire Hanna of TSN.
ANALYSIS
Dobes stopped 17 of 18 shots in a 3-1 win over Toronto on Tuesday, and he could be playing for the second consecutive day. Still, that might be the plan for Montreal, which is battling to secure a favorable playoff spot. The Canadiens called up Jacob Fowler from AHL Laval on Wednesday, and he attended the optional morning skate with fellow netminder Sam Montembeault. Ottawa has won its past three games, improving to 32-22-9 on the season.
