In his first season with the Sharks, Rutta saw action in 69 games in which he tallied five goals and 14 assists. With 19 points, the 34-year-old blueliner missed the 20-point threshold for the sixth consecutive season after having achieved that mark in his rookie campaign back in 2017-18 when he was with the Blackhawks. Given his limited offensive upside, fantasy managers probably shouldn't be banking on him offering much this time around either. The fact that he also doesn't produce a ton of hits or blocks, combined with a minus-21 rating, means Rutta figures to remain a relative non-factor in fantasy contests regardless of format.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be an option Tuesday
Rutta, who sustained an upper-body injury during Czechia's 5-0 loss to Canada on Thursday, might return to the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against Denmark in the qualifying round of the 2026 Winter Olympics, according to Robert Tiffin of D Magazine.
ANALYSIS
Rutta was hurt after taking a cross-check from Nathan MacKinnon in Czechia's opening game of the tournament, per Tiffin. If the 35-year-old Rutta is able to suit up Tuesday, he'll slot back into a bottom-four role. The right-shot blueliner has plenty of NHL experience, so his potential return to the lineup should only bolster the Czechs' chances of moving onto the quarterfinals, as they are already heavy favorites against the Danes.
