2025 Fantasy Outlook
Considering he wasn't even signed until training camp, Lankinen's performance for the Canucks was absolutely massive, especially considering Thatcher Demko never really looked comfortable after a long-term knee injury. Lankinen finished the season with a 25-15-10 record, a 2.62 GAA and a .902 save percentage. Those weren't league-winning numbers in fantasy, but he was plenty helpful for managers who plucked him off the waiver wire early on. The 30-year-old won't be facing uncertainity in his playing situation for a while, as he earned a five-year contract extension in February. Lankinen and Demko figure to share the crease, and while Lankinen might not be a full-time starter, he's still no worse than a No. 3 option in fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
Starting sixth straight
Lankinen will get the start Sunday against the Lightning, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Since the injury to Thatcher Demko (lower body), Lankinen has been heavily leaned on by the Canucks. The 30-year-old will play in his sixth straight contest despite coming out on the winning end just once in those appearances. He carries a 3-5-2 record, 3.58 GAA and an .886 save percentage into the contest against the Lightning, a team that has scored three goals or more four games in a row.

2021
Moving from rebuilding Chicago to Nashville meant Lankinen had significantly less playing time in 2022-23. Working as a backup to Juuse Saros, Lankinen had a 9-8-1 record, a 2.75 GAA and a .916 save percentage. Those numbers are more in line with his rookie year, so it's safe to say Lankinen is a fairly solid backup, though he'll feel a bit of a hot seat as the only thing standing between top prospect Yaroslav Askarov and an NHL job. Lankinen will want to perform well in his walk year, and if the Predators fall out of contention (or maybe even if they don't), he could be on the move at the trade deadline to shore up a contender's depth in the crease.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Poised to start?
Lankinen went through starter's drills during the morning skate, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports, putting him on track to defend the home net against Columbus on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Thatcher Demko is dealing with an undisclosed injury that will likely sideline him for Saturday's game and Sunday's visit to Colorado. Jiri Patera will probably be Lankinen's backup for Saturday's contest.
