Celebrini led the Sharks with 63 points,22 power-play points and 236 shots on target while ranking second on the team with 25 goals across 70 appearances in 2024-25. He would’ve added to those totals if he hadn’t missed 12 games due to an injury after notching one goal and one assist in his NHL debut. He thrived in a top-line role as an 18-year-old while developing chemistry with Will Smith, Tyler Toffoli and William Eklund. Celebrini scored two goals, one on the power play and the other on a penalty shot, and added an even-strength assist in Canada's 10-2 win over France in Olympic round-robin action Sunday.

The 19-year-old phenom continues to make history in Milan. Celebrini became the first NHL player to ever score on a penalty shot in the Olympics when he beat Julian Junca late in the second period -- something Sidney Crosby failed to do on his attempt in 2010, and both Patrick Kane and Corey Perry whiffed on in 2014. Celebrini also now holds the Olympic record for most goals by a teenager with four in only three games, and he's tied Evgeni Malkin's record for most points by a teenager with six. The San Jose star will look to claim that record for himself in Canada's quarterfinal game Wednesday, against either Denmark or Czechia.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The silver lining for the Sharks' horrid 2023-24 campaign is that they were able to select Celebrini with the No. 1 overall pick. Although not quite touted as a generational talent like Connor Bedard, Celebrini is still expected to develop into an elite forward. With the Sharks focused on rebuilding, it would not be surprising to see Celebrini start the 2024-25 campaign on their first line and top power-play unit, potentially sharing the ice with Logan Couture in all situations, provided the veteran forward has fully recovered from his groin injury. Celebrini, who had 32 goals and 64 points across 38 contests with Boston University last season, is expected to be one of the main contenders for the Calder Trophy, and it would not be shocking to see him reach the 60-point mark as a rookie.
