2025 Fantasy Outlook
When the book closes on Zuccarello's career, his offensive height will likely be seen as the 2021-22 campaign in which he recorded 79 points in 70 outings, but there might still be a couple of chapters left before we're done with his pro career. While he's past his peak, the soon-to-be 38-year-old showed during the 2024-25 regular season that he can still contribute, supplying 19 goals and 54 points across 69 appearances. Still, time missed due to injury was a concern heading into 2025-26. A concern that was confirmed when Zuccarello was ruled out for the first two months of the season with a lower-body injury. He has been limited to 69 or 70 games in three of his past four seasons. The possibility of another campaign above the 50-point mark is there, but he'll need to return in peak form to pull it off. Considered day-to-day
Zuccarello (lower body) was labeled day-to-day ahead of Thursday's matchup with Carolina, Wild broadcaster Kevin Falness reports.
ANALYSIS
Zuccarello looks poised to return from his lower-body injury after missing the first 14 games of the year. At this point, the veteran winger will likely miss the 20-goal threshold for the third straight season even if he does play Thursday. Once given the all-clear, Zuccarello figures to return to a top-six role and may link up with the No. 1 power-play unit.

What should you expect of Zuccarello at the age of 37? He's certainly been good recently, recording at least 60 points in each of his past three campaigns, including 12 goals and 51 assists in 69 outings last season. That said, his shot dropped off in 2023-24 with him firing at a career-worst 6.9 percent. A drop-off like that -- his career average shooting percentage is 11.2 -- might lead you to believe he had bad puck luck, and while that might be part of the story, a deeper look suggests he wasn't able to put himself in great shooting positions, and this was the natural result of that. Assuming that's one of the byproducts of him getting older, it's best not to expect him to rebound and reach the 20-goal mark this season. Zuccarello is still a solid playmaker, though, so even if you anticipate him declining further, a 50-60 point showing is a reasonable projection.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Joining team on upcoming road trip?
Head coach John Hynes said that Zuccarello, who is dealing with a lower-body injury, will be pushed hard at Tuesday's morning skate to determine if he will join the team on its upcoming two-game road trip, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Zuccarello has yet to play in 2025-26, but it looks like he's nearing a return to game action. The Wild have stops in Raleigh and Long Island on Thursday and Friday, respectively, so it's unlikely the 38-year-old would draw into both of those games after dealing with a long-term injury, if he's cleared to play. When he returns to the lineup, the veteran winger will slot into a top-six role and see time with the man advantage.
