2025 Fantasy Outlook
Leddy played in the first four games of the 2024-25 regular season before missing the next 49 contests due to a lower-body injury. He concluded the campaign with two goals, three assists, 21 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and five hits in 31 outings before adding one helper in seven playoff appearances. St. Louis put him on waivers in the summer, and San Jose claimed him. He will bolster the Sharks’ defense, possibly as a member of one of their top two pairings. While he probably won’t be much of an offensive factor, he should be a solid source of blocks. Read Past Outlooks

Leddy (upper body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Devils and Sunday's clash in Minnesota, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Leddy sustained an upper-body injury during Thursday's game against the Rangers, and he'll be unavailable for at least two matchups. Sam Dickinson will take his place in the lineup against New Jersey, while Leddy will be re-evaluated when the Sharks return home.

In his second full year in St. Louis, Leddy put together his best campaign since the 2020-21 season, generating 28 points across 82 games while averaging 22:22 of ice time. His ice time should stay steady or increase next year considering the Blues didn't bring in any real competition on the blue line and Torey Krug (ankle) is in danger of missing the entire season. Leddy, 33, wasn't a fixture on the power play last season, and Krug's potential absence would make him a strong candidate for the second power-play unit, making him a sleeper in fantasy formats. After all, Leddy has three 40-point campaigns on his record, though the most recent one was in 2017-18.

Might be claimed by Sharks
Leddy, who was placed on waivers Wednesday, could be claimed by San Jose, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Leddy is in the final year of his contract and comes in at a $4 million cap hit. The Sharks actually need to add salary in order to reach the cap floor, so overpaying for Leddy for one more season isn't a bad move -- especially if he can get back to being a 20-plus point producer as he was during both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns.
