2025 Fantasy Outlook
The ever-versatile Roy didn't have as many opportunities to move up in the Golden Knights' lineup in 2024-25. His average ice time of 15:13 per game was his lowest mark in the last four years, and it led to a 15-goal, 31-point season. The good news is that even though he was often in a fourth-line role, he still retained a power-play role, and he's seemingly always the next man up when an injury impacts a forward somewhere else in the lineup. He could occupy similar roles after being dealt to Toronto in the offseason. Roy has settled in as a consistent threat for 10-15 goals and 30-35 points at a minimum, and he also tends to average more than a hit per game while chipping in some PIM. He doesn't do enough of anything to be a widespread fantasy option, but he is a streaming option when he's higher in the lineup. Read Past Outlooks
Four points in last six games
Roy scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 4-0 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Roy's goal -- a tap past Jacob Markstrom's left pad -- came one second after a Leafs power play expired. It was his fourth goal of the season (36 games). Roy isn't a regular offensive contributor, but he does have four points (two goals, two assists) to go with nine hits over his last six games. With Auston Matthews (lower body) out after taking a puck off the foot, Roy may see more opportunity in the short term. It may not be enough to make him a fantasy asset at such a deep position, but the Leafs will go with the hottest hand given their desperate need for points, and Roy seems to be a touch warmer than Scott Laughton right now.

Roy produced a career-high 41 points in 70 regular-season games last year. The bulk of his production came during a 20-game span from Jan. 15 to March 7 when he racked up four goals and 16 assists. He stepped up during the injury absences of Jack Eichel and William Karlsson while playing between Jonathan Marchessault and Ivan Barbashev. The 27-year-old Roy also logged a great deal of his playing time on the fourth line in 2023-24. He is a serviceable forward who proved he can play higher in the lineup, but Vegas' depth down the middle could result in him seeing a reduced role at the beginning of 2024-25. He won't be on many fantasy rosters entering the season but could be worthy of a pickup if he moves up again.

Sitting out Wednesday?
Roy, who is dealing with an upper-body injury and is on injured reserve, might not be available for Wednesday's road matchup versus the Blue Jackets, according to Mark Masters of TSN.
ANALYSIS
Roy has missed three straight games due to the injury. The right-shot center has just one goal, four points and a minus-4 rating while averaging 14:55 of ice time over 19 appearances this season. The 28-year-old should slot back into a middle-six role once he returns to the lineup.
