2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lundkvist struggled to stay in the lineup in the first half of the season, and then shoulder surgery wiped out the second half of his 2024-25 campaign. He's since been cleared to return, so he'll be in the mix for a spot on the Stars' blue line in 2025-26, but he may not be a full-time option given his defensive limitations. He also had just five assists over 39 regular-season contests last year. However, Lundkvist is one of two right-shot blueliners projected to be on the Stars' roster, so that should give him a little job security on a team that is pushing up against the salary cap. Deemed week-to-week
Lundkvist (lower body) will be placed on injured reserve and is week-to-week, according to Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News on Monday.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Lundkvist will miss additional time after sitting out Saturday's 3-1 loss to St. Louis. However, it remains unclear when he will be available to return. Ilya Lyubushkin will probably stay in the lineup until Lundkvist is healthy.

2020
Lundkvist started the 2023-24 campaign with a 29-game goal drought during which he registered just one shot per game. Things weren't significantly better for the 24-year-old blueliner the rest of the way as he finished the year with two goals and 17 helpers in 59 regular-season contests. The Swede doesn't particularly stand out with ancillary stats either - he recorded 44 hits and 38 blocked shots last season - and is a fringe power-play option. All that to say, there likely are better options out there for fantasy managers to consider heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Scratched Friday
Lundkvist will serve as a healthy scratch against the Senators on Friday, Stars' radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports.
ANALYSIS
Lundkvist will watch from the press box for the fifth time in the team's last seven games. Even when he does get into the lineup, the Swede has managed just 14:39 of ice time per game while garnering seven assists, 24 shots and 12 hits. Whenever he does break into the lineup, it will likely be at the expense of Joel Hanley.
