2025 Fantasy Outlook
St. Louis made a bold move when it offered Broberg a two-year, $9.16 million contract as a restricted free agent despite the defenseman having just 81 regular-season and 20 playoff outings worth of NHL experience spread over three seasons, but the gamble paid off with the 24-year-old blueliner recording eight goals, 29 points, a plus-21 rating, 43 hits and 103 blocks across 68 regular-season appearances while averaging 20:30 of ice time in 2024-25. That’s quite the contrast from his struggles to stay in Edmonton’s lineup, though it’s long been believed that he had this kind of potential, hence his selection as the No. 8 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He might have further upside too, particularly in terms of offense -- he produced 65 points across 87 career games in the AHL. Don’t count on a big leap, but 30-40 points is possible for 2025-26. Nets first goal this season
Broberg netted a goal in Thursday's 7-4 loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
Broberg tallied the fourth goal of the game for St. Louis before the Mammoth denied the Blues' late comeback attempt with two goals to cement their lead. Broberg's twine finder was his first of the season and proves to be a good sign that another strong year for the 24-year-old could be in store. After recording 29 points in 68 regular-season appearances a year ago, Broberg should be in the mix to be a common contributor from the blue line once again. If he can string together back-to-back games with a point, he's a name to roster sooner rather than later in most formats.

Broberg has been a long-term project for the Oilers ever since the team took him eighth overall in the 2019 NHL Draft. Things appeared to be trending in the right direction following the 2022-23 campaign, but the young blueliner saw action in just 12 NHL contests last year. Along the way, the Swede didn't offer much from a fantasy perspective, registering a mere two assists, four hits and six shots while averaging 11:37 of ice time. Still, the Blues were impressed enough with Broberg to sign him to an offer sheet that went unmatched by Edmonton. With his new club, Broberg should be in the mix for more regular appearances -- though he will have to compete with the likes of Scott Perunovich and Pierre-Olivier Joseph for minutes coming out of training camp.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might have suffered injury
Broberg might have injured his leg during Wednesday's practice, according to Lou Korac of NHL.com.
ANALYSIS
Broberg fell during the skate and left the ice while putting little weight on his right leg. It's not clear if this incident is significant or if it will result in him missing any time. It's also possible that Broberg is hurt but is still capable of playing through the issue. St. Louis next plays Thursday versus Vegas. Scott Perunovich would likely draw into the lineup if Broberg misses any action.
