2025 Fantasy Outlook
Known for being a stay-at-home defenseman, Lindgren had the best offensive campaign of his seven-year career in 2024-25. He contributed four goals and 22 points over 72 regular-season appearances between the Rangers and Avalanche, though most of his production occurred with New York. While it was a limited sample size, Lindgren’s 15.7 percent of shift starts in the defensive zone was the highest mark among Avalanche blueliners, making him a decent source of blocked shots. However, he isn’t overly physical in the form of hits. More of the same should be expected in 2025-26, as the 27-year-old’s defensive style of play will be needed with his new club, the Kraken, as the team already has plenty of defensemen capable of chipping in offensively. Good to go
Lindgren (upper body) is in the lineup for Monday's road game against Philadelphia, per the NHL media site.
ANALYSIS
Lindgren was hit in the face with a puck in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Maple Leafs, but he'll avoid missing his first game of the season. The 27-year-old will fill his usual spot on the second pairing in addition to serving on the penalty kill.

Through five NHL seasons, Lindgren has never reached the 20-point threshold, including the 2023-24 campaign in which he tallied three goals and 14 assists. In fact, the blueliner has never recorded a power-play point in his career. All that to say, Lindgren isn't going to offer much in terms of offensive production. In certain formats, the Minnesota native could have some value after notching 114 hits and 103 blocked shots in 76 regular-season contests last year, but even those are middling numbers that represent Lindgren's low-end fantasy outlook.

Likely to test free agency
Lindgren, a pending unrestricted free agent, will likely be available on the open market Tuesday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Colorado acquired Lindgren from the Rangers near the deadline, and time is running out to reach a new contract. While it seemed like a foregone conclusion that the Avalanche and the 27-year-old defender would have to part ways due to a lack of cap space, Colorado freed up enough room where a reunion is possible after trading Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood to Columbus on Friday. Lindgren produced four goals and 18 assists across 72 regular-season games in 2024-25.
