Suzuki signed another one-year, two-way contract with Carolina during the offseason. The Ontario native made his NHL debut in 2024-25, though he was held without a point across two regular-season outings. The 2019 first-round selection (No. 28 overall) had a much bigger impact with AHL Chicago, generating 12 goals and 47 assists over 69 regular-season contests. The 24-year-old is trending in the right direction, centering the Wolves’ first line, but with the Hurricanes’ deep forward group, Suzuki will be hard-pressed to earn ice time beyond the minors in 2025-26. 2023 Fantasy Outlook
A late first-round pick of Carolina in 2019 (28th overall), Suzuki has struggled to find his footing in the AHL. His most recently season was his best to date, as he posted 13 goals and 32 points in 50 minor-league games. Still just 22 years of age, Suzuki doesn't have the skill set to project as a bottom-six grinder at the highest level, so he's going to have to find a way to continue to put up points. His NHL debut could come at some point during the 2023-24 campaign.
