2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson was once again able to command a majority of the starts for the Flyers, but his performance took a dip in 2024-25. He played in 47 games, earning a 22-17-5 record with a 3.14 GAA and a .883 save percentage. The Flyers carried three goalies for the bulk of the season, and all three netminders are under contract for 2025-26 as well. Barring changes in free agency, Ersson is projected to be the team's No. 1 goalie again, but he is far from a reliable option in fantasy. He'll play the bulk of the season at age 26, so this could be his last chance to prove himself as a capable NHL starter. Read Past Outlooks
Facing Chicago
Ersson will guard the road goal versus the Blackhawks on Tuesday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Ersson will look to snap a four-game skid. He's 0-2-2 with 14 goals allowed on 103 shots over that span. The Blackhawks are without both Connor Bedard (upper body) and Frank Nazar (upper body), so their offense will be significantly weakened, but Ersson's recent results aren't encouraging for fantasy purposes.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson emerged as the starter for the Flyers in 2023-24. He got off to a solid start, but his play suffered as the season progressed. He was elite until Jan. 18 (.927 save percentage and 1.85 GAA) if you omit the 12 goals allowed in his first two outings of the year. After that, he posted a 3.23 GAA and an .876 save percentage in 31 contests. Ersson will split time this season with Ivan Fedotov, and that rest should help him avoid the rigors of a heavy workload. Consequently, Ersson could be a potential steal in daily formats where lightning in a bottle can deliver positive results. However, he may not be a suitable long-term option for fantasy managers if his consistency doesn't improve.
