2025 Fantasy Outlook
Blueger accounted for eight goals, 26 points, 94 shots and 104 hits in 82 regular-season games last campaign. Before slowing down as 2024-25 progressed, he had five tallies and 12 assists through his first 35 outings. Blueger also led the Canucks with 510 faceoff wins. He has flirted with the 30-point plateau on three occasions but hasn’t achieved that mark yet in his NHL career. He is a solid bottom-six center who kills penalties, but fantasy managers won’t benefit much from his offensive contributions unless he is going through a heater. Read Past Outlooks
Suiting up versus Caps
Blueger (lower body) will be back in the lineup against Washington on Wednesday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.
ANALYSIS
Blueger will return to action following a 43-game stint on injured reserve due to his lower-body injury. The veteran center has reached the 20-point threshold in all but two of his seven previous NHL campaigns. However, he is unlikely to play enough games to get to that threshold this time around, especially considering he will be filling a bottom-six role.

Blueger had to wait a month to make his Canucks debut due to a bruised ankle he suffered just before the start of the 2023-24 campaign. The good news is he didn't miss another game the rest of the way, racking up six goals and 22 assists to match his career-high of 28 points. Injuries are often part of the equation for the Latvian forward -- he's missed between 13 and 19 games in each of the last four seasons. He can chip in hits at a decent rate but doesn't produce many PIM, and his offense is rarely going to exceed a 30-point pace even if he could avoid injuries. Expect Blueger to fill a bottom-six role for the Canucks again in 2024-25, and he has virtually no chance to move up the lineup given the team's ample center depth.
