Bordeleau (concussion) signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old was dealt earlier in the month from San Jose in exchange for Shane Bowers. Bordeleau played 44 regular-season games with the Sharks across four seasons, scoring six times and adding 12 assists. He spent most of last season with AHL San Jose, tallying 14 goals and 24 assists across 59 regular-season appearances. He will likely spend most of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Utica, barring a slew of injuries up front for the Devils.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Sharks refused to give Bordeleau a full-time role last season despite the fact they were the worst team in the league. He produced when given the chance, managing six goals and 11 points, including seven with the man advantage, in 27 games. With San Jose taking steps to be more competitive this coming year, Bordeleau is almost a lock to begin the upcoming campaign in the AHL. Still just 22 years old, he still has a decent amount of dynasty value, but it's starting to look like Bordeleau will need a change of scenery in order to reach his full potential.
With seven assists over 16 games across the last two years, Bordeleau hasn't blown the roof off of the SAP Center, but he's shown he belongs. The 21-year-old forward was better in the AHL last year, logging 22 goals and 19 assists in 65 games with the Barracuda. There's a case to be made that Bordeleau should be in the NHL, esepcially with the lack of established talent in the Sharks' bottom six. However, the counterpoint is that he may benefit from playing big minutes in the minors rather than a smaller role on a losing NHL squad. With the Sharks bringing in plenty of wingers during the offseason, there's no guarantee Bordeleau breaks camp on the NHL roster, but he should see some time during the year. Still, that makes him a risky bet in redraft formats.

LWSan Jose Sharks
December 25, 2022
The Sharks intend to let Bordeleau develop with AHL San Jose for the foreseeable future, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Bordeleau has 13 goals -- the most by any AHL rookie this season -- and 20 points through 29 games on the year. He tallied five assists in a short, eight-game stint with the Sharks last season but the team will let him and William Eklund continue to develop at a slow pace. If Bordeleau continues his success this season he could carve out a role at the top level to begin the 2023-24 campaign.
