He showcased plenty of promise at the beginning of the year, lighting the lamp seven times and posting 14 points in his first 21 outings. Despite his 2023-24 being bookended by injuries, Chinakhov took a step forward with 16 goals and 13 assists in 53 appearances in his third year with the Blue Jackets. The forward finally got a chance at some top-six minutes, averaging 15:10 of ice time per game. At 23 years old, there's still room for more growth in his game, especially if the Blue Jackets can claw their way out of the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. If he shakes off the upper-body injury that ended his campaign and avoids further lengthy absences, he could challenge for a 20-goal, 40-point year in 2024-25.
