Following a season in which he scored 31 goals and shot 17.8 percent, Sharangovich took an expected step back in the 2024-25 season despite the improvement of the Flames as a team. He still scored a respectable 17 goals and added 15 assists, but it was far short of the high 59-point benchmark he set the year before. Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Sharangovich will need to discover how to replicate the shot volume from his career season (2.18 per game) compared to the 1.75 shots per game he had last year. Should he play a similar amount in the 2025-26 season (16:39 of ice time per game, including 2:09 on the power play), the five-year veteran will have all the tools to try to find his way back to at least the 20-goal plateau again with the chance for more. With the twine finder, Sharangovich is up to 13 goals, 23 points, 113 shots on net and 25 blocked shots across 59 games this season. Since the beginning of March, the 27-year-old winger has been heating up with two goals and three points over five games. If his string of solid performances offensively continues, he could provide sneaky value as a temporary streaming option in deep leagues.

In his first season with the Flames, Sharangovich set new personal bests with 31 goals, 28 assists and 17 power-play points while averaging 17:19 of ice time. As a result, the team opted to shell out for the 26-year-old winger to the tune of a five-year, $28.75 million deal. Where exactly the creative forward fits into the lineup next season likely won't be determined until training camp, especially with the addition of Anthony Mantha in free agency and the emergence of Connor Zary. Still, Sharangovich should keep his spot on the No. 1 power-play unit even if he is relegated to a middle-six role at even strength. With that responsibility in his back pocket, Sharangovich should be capable of pushing for the 60-point threshold, a mark he missed by just one point last season.
