Drops decision after weight miss
FlyweightUFC
October 25, 2025
Maksum lost to Mitch Raposo via unanimous decision (26-30, 27-29, 27-29) at UFC 321 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
The events of the past 36 hours would appear to make Maksum a lock for a release in the near future. He missed weight by three pounds Friday morning and had to forfeit 30 percent of his purse to Raposo in order for the bout to proceed. Maksum still found himself as a -500 favorite, but that proved not to matter in the slightest. He quickly faded after a strong opening round, in addition to being correctly docked a point by referee Rich Mitchell after grabbing the fence to avoid a takedown. Maksum has lost three in a row and is without a win dating back to July 2023.

Misses weight, fight still on
FlyweightUFC
October 24, 2025
Maksum missed weight for his still-scheduled fight against Mitch Raposo at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, UFC.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maksum weighed above the UFC's flyweight limit of 126 pounds. He and Raposo will fight as scheduled, with the latter getting 30 percent of the former's purse. Maksum will look to go 2-0 in 2025, which he began strongly by defeating Tagir Ulanbekov.
Draws next fight
FlyweightUFC
July 21, 2025
Maksum will fight Mitch Raposo at UFC 321 on Oct. 25 in Abu Dhabi, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Maksum will look for his second UFC win as he travels to Abu Dhabi for a flyweight showdown. He's coming off a tough two-fight losing streak to Charles Johnson and Tagir Ulanbekov, both via unanimous decision. Other than those to matches, the 5-foot-8 fighter is 15-0 in his professional fighting career, including one UFC victory. Maksum will take on a younger Raposo, who has yet to win in the UFC and sports a 9-3 pro record.
Strong showing in underdog loss
FlyweightUFC
June 21, 2025
Maksum lost to Tagir Ulanbekov via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
ANALYSIS
The scorecards are not remotely reflective of how competitive this fight was. Entering as a north of a +350 underdog, Maksum went out and stuffed all eight takedown attempts from a high-level wrestler in Ulanbekov. He added three takedowns of his own. Maksum did spend too much time being pinned up along the cage, but he did fine in the striking exchanges between the two men, and you can most definitely squint and say he deserved this result. The 30-year-old has now lost back-to-back fights on the heels of a split decision win over Tyson Nam in his UFC debut back in July 2023.
Scheduled for UFC Baku
FlyweightUFC
May 19, 2025
Maksum (undisclosed) is scheduled against Tagir Ulanbekov for a flyweight fight at UFC Baku on June 21, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
UFC Baku was scheduled to include a fight between Tagir Ulanbekov and Kyoji Horiguchi (undisclosed), but the latter cannot make said event. This gifts Maksum a prime opportunity to make his return after an extended absence that began in February 2024.
