Drops decision after weight miss
Maksum lost to Mitch Raposo via unanimous decision (26-30, 27-29, 27-29) at UFC 321 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.

The events of the past 36 hours would appear to make Maksum a lock for a release in the near future. He missed weight by three pounds Friday morning and had to forfeit 30 percent of his purse to Raposo in order for the bout to proceed. The scorecards are not remotely reflective of how competitive this fight was. Entering as a north of a +350 underdog, Maksum went out and stuffed all eight takedown attempts from a high-level wrestler in Ulanbekov. He added three takedowns of his own. Maksum did spend too much time being pinned up along the cage, but he did fine in the striking exchanges between the two men, and you can most definitely squint and say he deserved this result. The 30-year-old has now lost back-to-back fights on the heels of a split decision win over Tyson Nam in his UFC debut back in July 2023.
