It wouldn't be surprising to hear he purposely started slow in hopes of saving his energy. If that was indeed the case, it worked. Barely. Battle simply pressured Brown in both Rounds 2 and 3. He pinned him to the cage for long stretches at a time and mixed in a few big knees here and there. Two of the three judges felt it was enough. Battle is now 8-1 (1NC) in his first 10 UFC bouts. The next challenge for "The Butcher" is beating the scale.
