Taps out to Jean Silva
FeatherweightUFC
April 12, 2025
Mitchell lost to Jean Silva via submission (ninja choke) at 3:52 of Round 2 at UFC 314 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, but he had a chance to silent his critics here. It didn't happen, and now his future appears to be firmly up in the air. To Bryce's credit, he knew his only chance of winning was to ground Silva, and he fired off 14 takedown attempts as a result. The issue was that he landed only one, and even then he found himself having to fight off a very deep guillotine choke. Mitchell eventually appeared to tire before getting submitted late in Round 2. His personal views aside, Bryce has legitimate talent. The problem is he competes in arguably the deepest division in the sport and has alternated wins and losses in his past six bouts. That's not going to get the job done.

Booked against Jean Silva
FeatherweightUFC
February 27, 2025
Mitchell will take on Jean Silva in a featherweight matchup at UFC 314 on April 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell has rightfully had a target on his back since some recent controversial comments, and Silva was the first fighter to jump on the opportunity by calling him out after his victory over Melsik Baghdasaryan in February. It's a dangerous opponent for Mitchell, as Silva has four consecutive stoppage victories since entering the UFC, also defeating notable opponents such as Drew Dober and Charles Jourdain. We last saw Mitchell in December, when he got back in the win column by finishing Kron Gracie in the third round. While Mitchell has faced a higher caliber of competition, his bread and butter is his wrestling game, and Silva sports a respectable 80 percent takedown defense.
Easily handles Kron Gracie
FeatherweightUFC
December 7, 2024
Mitchell defeated Kron Gracie via KO (elbow) at 0:39 of Round 3 at UFC 310 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
On the sidelines for almost exactly a year following a brutal first-round knockout loss to Josh Emmett, Mitchell got back in the Octagon here and took full advantage of a soft matchup. He landed a few big shots on the feet, but spent the vast majority of the fight in top position. Bryce did have to survive a deep armbar attempt from Gracie late in Round 2, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. The finish came when Mitchell landed a vicious elbow after Gracie once again tried to pull guard. Bryce is just 2-2 in his past four fights, but the defeats have come against a legitimate top-five talent in Emmett and the current UFC Featherweight Champion, Ilia Topuria. No shame in either of those setbacks.
To return in December
FeatherweightUFC
November 20, 2024
Mitchell will take on Kron Gracie in a featherweight matchup at UFC 310 on December 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell hasn't fought since last December, when he took a fight against Josh Emmett on short notice and suffered a KO loss in Round 1. The only other loss on his ledger is to current champion and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the roster in Ilia Topuria. UFC 310 represents a great bounce-back opportunity, as he'll be taking on a fighter in Gracie who is regarded as a mat specialist, similar to Mitchell, with little power in his hands. At one point considered a title contender, this is the first step for Mitchell potentially getting back on track.
Destroyed by Josh Emmett
FeatherweightUFC
December 16, 2023
Mitchell lost to Josh Emmett via KO (punch) at 1:57 of Round 1 at UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell accepted this fight about ten days ago. Perhaps that had an impact on the end result, but it's more likely Bryce, who had never been knocked out in his pro career prior to this bout, just got hit with a perfect shot from Emmett (which turned his lights out in an instant). Mitchell never even got a chance to get his elite ground game going. The 29-year-old Arkansas native has dropped two of his last three, so it's imperative he get back in the win column his next time out.
Steps in for Chikadze
FeatherweightUFC
December 6, 2023
Mitchell will fight Josh Emmett at UFC 296 on Dec. 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell will be filling in for Giga Chikadze, who was forced to withdraw from the event due to a groin injury. Mitchell holds an impressive 7-1 record in the UFC and will face an opponent in the middle of a two-fight skid.
