His speed and quickness carried over to the new weight class and allowed Charles to win virtually all the striking exchanges between the two men. He struggled defensively in terms of defending the takedown, allowing Henry to score two tries in each round, but ever the opportunist on the mat, Jourdain saw an opening and was able to close the show with a beautiful guillotine choke. Moving down a division in the latter stages of a career is typically a cause for concern, but it's important to remember Charles won't be 29 years of age until late November.
