Wins after wild Round 1
Brundage defeated Julian Marquez via TKO (punches) at 4:45 of Round 1 at UFC Vegas 103 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
In a fight that seemingly had little business as a co-main event, at least a finish was delivered in a matchup between two men with little regard for defense. The two men landed over 100 total strikes in the duration of the bout, but Brundage had the 44-to-37 advantage in those deemed significant. He did find himself in deep waters too, as a right hand from Marquez knocked out his mouthpiece, and Marquez briefly threatened with a guillotine as well. Brundage was able to escape and fight back with reckless abandon before a right hand of his own sent Marquez to the canvas. Brundage leaped to secure position and finish the proceedings with ground-and-pound. A win over Marquez may not mean much these days, but Brundage picks up his first victory since December of 2023 and likely extends his time with the company.

ANALYSIS
Brundage has been a victim of illegal elbows in two of his last four fights, but in between those two bouts, he defeated Zachary Reese via KO and was submitted by Bo Nickal. Brundage owns a 10-6-0 pro record in MMA, but his UFC record shows just four wins in 10 fights (4-5-0-1).

Again victim of illegal blows
Brundage and Abdul Razak Alhassan fought to a no contest (illegal elbows) at 0:37 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
This was a carbon copy of Brundage's fight against Jacob Malkoun last September. He was getting obliterated in both bouts, ate what was termed illegal elbow(s) by the referee, and determined he couldn't continue. In that fight, Malkoun was disqualified and Brundage was given a win. Here, the fight was ruled a no-contest. In between, he knocked out Zachary Reese and was submitted by Bo Nickal. Perhaps the UFC will attempt to rebook these two in the near future.
