Loma Lookboonmee

Thailand

Does enough as massive favorite
StrawweightUFC
April 5, 2025
Lookboonmee defeated Istela Nunes via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an underwhelming effort from Lookboonmee when you take into account she entered as a -1000 favorite and was taking on an opponent that began the evening with an 0-4 record in the UFC and hadn't fought in nearly two years. Lookboonmee was credited with three takedowns and 4:34 worth of control time, but it was Nunes who closed with a 36-32 edge in significant strikes landed. It's rarely pretty, but Lookboonmee improves to 6-1 in her past seven fights dating back to October 2020. Five of the six wins have come via decision, and all were against lower-end competition.

Improves to 5-1 in past six

Lookboonmee defeated Bruna Brasil via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
One of the smallest fighters on the UFC roster at just 5-foot-1, Lookboonmee is known for her grappling game. She attempted just two takedowns against the much bigger Brasil, landing one. Instead, Loma did a solid, if unspectacular, job controlling most of the stand-up exchanges between the two women. It was nice to see Loma win a clear-cut decision in a fight in which she had just 55 seconds worth of control time. Lookboonmee has no stopping power in her hands given her small stature, so it's imperative she wins with volume during striking exchanges. The 28-year-old has quietly won five of her last six.

Lookboonmee will fight Bruna Brasil on Feb. 10 at UFC Vegas 86, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Lookboonmee is coming off her first submission victory of her career in February, defeating Elise Reed in Round 2 at UFC 284. Brasil secured her first UFC victory in July, defeating Shauna Bannon via unanimous decision.
Taps out Elise Reed in Australia

February 11, 2023
Lookboonmee defeated Elise Reed via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:44 of Round 2 at UFC 284 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
This was the first submission victory of Lookboonmee's professional career, which is absolutely shocking considering how slick the finish was. She and Reed fought even terms for nearly the entirety of the opening round before the latter gained some traction late. That all changed at the start of Round 2 when Lookboonmee, who is deceptively strong for a woman that stands 5-foot-1, dragged Reed to the mat and immediately clamped on the rear-naked choke. Lookboonmee's 5-2 UFC record is pretty impressive, but she has no history of defeating better competition. Still, at just 27 years of age, there's time for her to make a run at 115 pounds.
Expected to fight in February
StrawweightUFC
November 6, 2022
Lookboonmee is anticipated to fight Elise Reed in a strawweight bout at UFC 284 on Feb. 11, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Lookboonmee will fight again for the first time since a unanimous decision over UFC rookie Denise Gomes on Sept. 17. The Muay Thai specialist out of Thailand will take on an opponent in Reed who is 2-2 in her UFC career, as she is coming off her own unanimous decision over Melissa Martinez on Sept. 10. Lookboonmee will have a slight two-inch height disadvantage and a 1.5-inch reach disadvantage.
