It's a massive rebound performance from Rebecki on the heels of his third-round knockout loss to Carlos Diego Ferreira in May as a -400 favorite. He found himself as a +250 underdog against Orolbai and honestly looked more comfortable in the role. He limited Orolbai's space in taking Round 1. Myktybek came back to even the fight in Round 2, at which point Rebecki landed the biggest blow of the bout, a massive right hand which floored his opponent in Round 3. Mateusz gassed out hard the remainder of the frame and may have been in huge trouble if there was even another minute on the clock, but as is, two of the three judges felt he did enough to win. Rebecki improves to 4-1 in the UFC, in addition to scoring a win on Dana White's Contender Series. He also takes home an additional $50,000 for his efforts here, as this matchup was rightfully awarded Fight of the Night honors.

He started out on fire, putting forth a quick pace and knocking Ferreira down in Round 1, but Rebecki was unable to get the stoppage, and his gas tank completed evaporated early in Round 2. That allowed Diego to batter him the rest of the way, with referee Gary Copeland finally calling for a mercy stoppage with less than ten seconds remaining. Rebecki entered having won 16 fights in a row, including each of his first three with the UFC. It's back to the drawing board for the 31-year-old in the ultra-competitive lightweight division.
