Finally earns first UFC win
WelterweightUFC
April 5, 2025
McKee defeated Daniel Frunza via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
McKee showed plenty of power on the European regional scene prior to his UFC arrival, but it didn't show up in his first two fights with the company, as he lost both via decision. He was able to get in a groove early in this one against the debuting Frunza, landing a ridiculous three knockdowns in Round 1 alone. Frunza recovered pretty well, and McKee appeared to be tiring some, but the doctor called off the fight between rounds due to the extensive damage the former was wearing. McKee's roster spot should be secure for another bout after the win, and he also went on to earn one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening.

Taking on Frunza in April
WelterweightUFC
January 26, 2025
McKee will fight Daniel Frunza at a UFC event in Las Vegas on April 5, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
McKee will look to use a height and reach advantage as he looks to bounce back from back-to-back losses in UFC. The 29-year-old fighter from Northern Ireland will be hoping for an early finish, as he holds an ugly 0-4 professional record in decision finishes. Both fighters will look to use their power in this one, with McKee holding an impressive 10-2 record in KO/TKO finishes while Frunza boasts a perfect 8-0 record.
Still searching for first UFC win
WelterweightUFC
March 31, 2024
McKee lost to Chidi Njokuani via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
The 29-28 scorecard in favor of McKee isn't the worst of all time, but it's up there. There's absolutely a case to be made that he won Round 1, but the total strikes over the course of the final ten minutes were 67-23 in favor of Njokuani, while McKee failed on all seven of his takedown attempts. Finding a second frame to score for Rhys would have been difficult. McKee is now 0-4 with the UFC over the course of two separate stints with the promotion and appears likely to be handing his walking papers once again.
Matched up with Njokuani

McKee will fight Chidi Njokuani at UFC Atlantic City on March 30, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
McKee fell short in his return to the UFC in September, moving to 0-3 within the promotion. Still in search of his first win, McKee will receive an opponent who hasn't won a fight since 2022.
Falls in return to UFC
WelterweightUFC
September 2, 2023
McKee lost to Ange Loosa via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
Released by the UFC in February 2021 after losing his first two fights with the promotion, McKee returned here against Loosa and again didn't show much. To McKee's credit, he very easily could have thrown in the towel after being mauled by Loosa in Round 2. Not only did he fight through it, but he also likely deserved to win Round 3. In the end it didn't matter, but displaying that type of heart could very easily be the difference as to whether or not the soon-to-be 28-year-old Irishman gets another opportunity with the company.
Return to UFC set
WelterweightUFC
July 14, 2023
McKee will take on Ange Loosa in a welterweight bout at a UFC event on Sept. 2 in Paris, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
McKee was released by the UFC in February of 2021, after dropping both of his two fights with the promotion. After stacking three straight wins while fighting in Cage Warriors, the welterweight will make his return to the UFC and look to pick up his first victory. His opponent Loosa is currently 1-1 in the UFC.
