To challenge for spot in rankings
Woodson will take on Dan Ige in a featherweight matchup at UFC 314 on April 12 in Miami, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Woodson has won four in a row and is without a defeat since June of 2020, and he now draws a bigger name and step up in competition against Ige. While Ige is known for a relentless offensive attack, it's actually Woodson who sports higher striking volume numbers, in addition to pronounced, seven-inch advantages in both height and reach. With Ige currently sitting at No. 15 in the featherweight rankings, Woodson could easily grab that spot with a statement win here.

Unbeaten streak hits seven
Woodson defeated Fernando Padilla TKO (punches) at 4:58 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Justly or not, Woodson has earned a reputation as a technical volume striker with very little power. He typically stands at distance and tries to pick his opposition apart, content with winning a decision. That's why it was nice to see a new level of aggressiveness in this one. Woodson unloaded on Padilla with a slew of shots and upped the output with his opponent in trouble. He finally got the stoppage with just two seconds left in Round 1. It's not always pretty, but Woodson's current seven-fight unbeaten streak (6-0, 1NC) suggests he deserves a bigger bout his next time out.

Fighting Padilla in December
Woodson will face Fernando Padilla at a UFC event in Tampa on December 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Woodson will take on Padilla in December, looking to extend his six-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2021. The 32-year old American will take slight height and reach advantages into the bout as he looks to take down the younger Mexican. Taking the fight the distance will be key for Woodson as he boasts an impressive 8-0 record in decision fights, as compared to Padilla, who has suffered all five of his professional losses in decisions.

Gets hometown cooking in win
Woodson defeated Alex Caceres via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
Massive for the featherweight division at 6-foot-2, Woodson used his length to stat quickly and pull ahead of Caceres in the opening frame. After that, Alex appeared to find his range, and Sean slowed down, making the final two rounds quite dicey. Most people that watched the fight probably would have scored it 29-28 Caceres, with the 30-27 Woodson scorecard being totally indefensible. Still, as the old saying goes, it's better to be lucky than good sometimes. Woodson isn't considered a top-ten guy at 145 pounds at this point, but with an undefeated record in his past six bouts (5-0-1), he's due a bump in competition his next time out.

Set to take on Caceres
Woodson will face Alex Caceres in a featherweight event at UFC STL on May 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Woodson has been on a tear of late, and his recent win over Charles Jourdain via split decision on Jan. 20 extended his undefeated streak to five fights. He'll face a veteran on a good run, as Caceres might be past his prime but has gone 7-2 across his last nine fights. Woodson, a St. Louis native, might be the odds-on favorite given he'll fight in front of his home crowd, though.
