2025 Fantasy Outlook
This team was easily the most dominant outfit of 2024. The multi-driver rotation cashed in on a staggering nine combined victories (John Hunter Nemechek 2, Aric Almirola 3, Ryan Truex 2 and Christopher Bell 2). They also stacked up a strong 23 combined Top-10 finishes throughout the season. Jones has returned to Joe Gibbs Racing to take over this ride. Over the past two seasons Jones saw his career take a couple steps back. The move to JR Motorsports did not payoff and he saw his performance suffer through two winless campaigns in the No. 9 Chevrolet. For 2025 he returns to Joe Gibbs Racing and the organization that helped him to five victories and dozens of Top 10's between 2019 and 2022. We don't expect the No. 20 team to be utterly dominant like they were last season, but they'll contend for wins and many Top 10's under Jones' guidance. Read Past Outlooks
Third at the Monster Mile
Jones finished third in the rain-shortened BetRivers 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
Jones would earn his best finish in several weeks with a strong performance Saturday at the Monster Mile. He would start fourth on the grid and battle among the leaders for the entire race. Jones would lead 5 laps between stages but that would be his time in the lead. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver would hold off a hard-charging Justin Allgaier as weather set in to claim the impressive third-place finish. It was Jones' fourth Top 5 of the season.

2014
Jones was a bit uninspiring last season in the JRM No. 9 Chevrolet. The journeyman driver would go winless and only snag 10 Top-10 finishes in 2023. Those marks were well below his recent historical norms and really constituted his worst campaign since 2017. It seems almost improbable that this driver and team would again lay another egg, so we're predicting a bit of a rebound. Jones will get a new crew chief in 2024 in the form of Phillip Bell. He and Jones will look to get back some of the performance that the team lost last season. While an improvement seems likely, we'd be conservative on expectations. Certainly Jones should improve his Top-10 totals and improve his final standings position. We're stopping short of expecting any race wins. Those would be an unexpected bonus.
