A good qualifying effort would go for not as Hadjar would run into trouble at the Yas Marina Circuit. He'd start the race on medium tyres and move over to hards at his lap 14 pit stop. His single stop strategy would initially appear to work. Hadjar would recover from P18 up to P13 by mid-race. However, the young driver would use up those hard tyres and they would begin to go away late. He'd tumble through the field to P17 by the checkered flag. It was an unfortunate way to end what has been a good rookie season for Hadjar.
