Jeb Burton

33-Year-Old Driver
Jordan Anderson Racing
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Jordan Anderson Racing is bringing back Burton for another season in the team's Chevrolet. The journeyman driver had a pretty good campaign for this team in 2025, collecting eight Top-10 finishes and a 14th-place points finish. It was a dramatic improvement over the team's 2024 season performance. Burton is not a big candidate to lead laps nor win races with this small race team, but he does bring consistency and over 200 starts of O'Reilly Series experience to the table. Short tracks and superspeedway ovals seem to be Burton's expertise, and he's not bad on road circuits either. Very competitive. A new technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing should help modestly boost this driver and team's potential in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Tops O'Reilly Practice at Daytona
O'Reilly Auto Parts Series
February 13, 2026
Burton was fastest in opening practice for the United Rentals 300 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Friday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 184.672 mph.
ANALYSIS
Burton has the reputation of a superspeedway driver and he showed it in this opening practice at Daytona. The driver of the No. 27 Chevrolet edged Dean Thompson to lead this session at the historic Florida oval. Burton is looking like a Top-5 threat for Saturday's United Rentals 300 at Daytona.

Burton returns to the team that he's raced for the last three seasons. He'll once again pilot the No. 27 Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing. Burton achieved three Top 10's and six Top 15's with this outfit last year. He'd come home 19th-place in the final point standings as a result. While DNF's were not a problem for Burton, being fast enough and competitive enough to crack the Top 20 was a problem at times. Short tracks and superspeedways were definitely Burton's sweet spot and should be tracks of interest in 2025. The veteran driver has had better campaigns in recent seasons so we view his 2024 performance as the floor. Burton certainly has a much higher ceiling.
The 31-year-old veteran had a reasonably successful campaign in 2023. Burton raced to an upset win (Talladega), six Top-10 finishes and a respectable 12th-place showing in the final driver standings. Those were all incredible gains for the Jordan Anderson Racing No. 27 team over the 2022 season. Burton returns to this small team in the upcoming year. The crew chief has not been named at the point of this writing, but it is expected that Shane Whitbeck will return and he will attempt to build on what Burton and he accomplished last year. As they demonstrated in 2023, the short tracks and larger ovals will be their best tracks for success. They come back to the field a good bit on road circuits and intermediate ovals.
Burton had a bit of a perplexing season with Our Motorsports last year. He failed to crack the Top 10 in a single race and he collected eight DNF's in what was a struggle filled campaign. Burton will look to hit the reset button in 2023 and with a new race team. The veteran driver comes over to Jordan Anderson Racing as the outfit looks to expand into a second team in the Xfinity Series this season. Burton has a rock-solid sponsorship lineup and hopes that the change of scenery spurs him back to some form of more competitive racing. He'll likely never achieve the same level of performance he had at Kaulig Racing in 2021 (1 win and 16 Top 10's), however, Burton should be able to make some gains getting out of what was a stagnant situation last year.
Burton had a wildly successful season with Kaulig Racing last year in the No. 10 Chevrolet. He would collect career-best marks of one win and 16 Top-10 finishes. However, things would not work out for Burton to stay in that ride for 2022 as Landon Cassill would displace him there. The young driver lands squarely on his feet at the growing Our Motorsports stable. Burton will pilot the team's new car for the upcoming season, the No. 27 Chevrolet. He's being paired with long-time crew chief Chad Walter, and the two will look to form chemistry right away. Now with 76 Xfinity Series starts under his belt, Burton is becoming a seasoned driver. There will be some bumps in the road ahead as they get this new team off the ground, but Burton is capable of competitive racing.
With the promotion of Ross Chastain to the Cup Series, Burton is poised to take over the Kaulig Racing No. 10 Chevrolet. This will be his first full season of action in this division of NASCAR, but Burton is far from a rookie. He has 43-combined starts in the Xfinity Series spread over seven seasons. Last season's 11-race campaign with JR Motorsports was his most successful season to-date. Burton racked up three Top-5 and six Top-10 finishes in those 11 starts. The short tracks and superspeedways are definitely Burton's strength. At 28-years-old, he's more seasoned than many of the young drivers in the Xfinity Series. Burton has seen and experienced a lot in his time. Now with a strong race team and good resources, Burton has the chance to break into the win column for the first time and pile up career-best stats.
JRM has signed Daniel Hemric to pilot the team's car for most of the schedule, a total of 21 starts. Youngster Burton will take the wheel for 11 starts, and Earnhardt Jr. will get one start early in the season at Homestead. While there are three drivers for this team, it will mostly be an effort for Hemric. He comes over from the Cup Series last year in the RCR No. 8 Chevrolet. When Hemric last raced in the Xfinity Series he stacked up 16 Top-5 and 23 Top-10 finishes for old boss Richard Childress in 2018. The 28-year-old driver now has well over 100 combined starts in NASCAR's lower divisions. That experience will show in the No. 8 JRM Chevrolet Camaro.
Burton will make at least five starts in the strong No. 8 Chevy of JR Motorsports. This team is a multi-driver operation, however, with a lot of upside due to the team's strength, personnel and good equipment. Burton made only three Xfinity Series starts last season with a pair of Top-15 finishes in those efforts for Richard Childress Racing.
Burton's 2018 plans have not been announced.
Burton signed with Richard Petty Motorsports in February 2016 to drive the No. 43 Ford in the Xfinity Series.
The 20-year-old son of Sprint Cup Series driver Ward Burton will get his first full taste of NASCAR action in the truck series. Burton will follow his five-start effort of 2012 with a full 22-race slate in 2013. The up-and-coming driver earned one Top-10 finish in those five starts, so talent is clearly there. However, lots of lessons will be learned this season. Burton will pilot the No. 4 Turner Motorsports truck, so good equipment and good team support will be there. Mike Hillman Jr. will do the honors at crew chief and make Burton’s quest for Rookie of the Year an easier task.
