2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gibbs took a little bit to get rolling, but once he got some momentum on his side, he would easily march to Rookie of the Year honors in 2023. The Joe Gibbs Racing youngster would heat up in the second half of last season and earn 10 Top-10 finishes and wind up a respectable 18th-place in the points at the end of last year. Gibbs will now look to continue climbing the ladder and follow the example his teammate, Christopher Bell, has set with driver development at JGR. We believe that's a very good comparison and likely a good predictor of potential performance. Bell posted similar rookie numbers to Gibbs and in year two would earn one win and 16 Top-10 finishes en route to a strong 12th-place showing in the driver standings. Gibbs is quite capable of meeting, if not exceeding those goals. Gibbs finished third in the YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
The driver of the No. 54 Toyota would march to the front during stage 1 and lead 4 laps en route to the stage 1 victory. Gibbs would maintain that good track position the majority of the day and battle among the leaders at the end of the race. The late restart would see Gibbs on the inside line pushing Chase Briscoe into the lead on the final lap and to the eventual win. The young JGR driver would end up a strong third-place in the frantic finish for his fifth Top 5 of the season.
