2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cardoso was selected third overall by the Sky last year, but her rookie season got off to a slow start after she sustained a shoulder injury during the preseason that forced her to miss the first six games of the regular season. She was brought along slowly in her first three games back, but she claimed a starting role afterward and retained that job for the remainder of her appearances. Cardoso showed promise when she was fully available, as she averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 27.4 minutes per game despite playing alongside fellow rookie Angel Reese, who set a WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles last year. Cardoso should have opportunities to continue developing in 2025, but she'll likely have to split some work with Elizabeth Williams, who missed most of last season due to a torn meniscus. Double-doubles in loss
Cardoso had 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 FT), 13 rebounds and one steal across 28 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 95-57 loss to the Storm.
ANALYSIS
Cardoso was one of Chicago's few bright spots as the team was blown out by the Storm in emphatic fashion. Angel Reese is now battling a back injury after previously dealing with a leg issue, so Cardoso's upside could be higher for as long as Reese is sidelined. Reese is considered day-to-day, but Cardoso still has a high fantasy floor regardless of Reese's status.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Cardoso had a prominent role at Syracuse as a freshman but had to settle for a bench role over her first two seasons at South Carolina after transferring to the program ahead of the 2021-22 season. However, she started in 32 of 33 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign after several of the Gamecocks' key contributors graduated. She was a dominant frontcourt presence, averaging 14.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 assists in 25.4 minutes per game to help lead the team to an undefeated season that culminated in a national championship. Cardoso's efforts made her the No. 3 selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and she joins a Sky team that is rebuilding after losing several reliable players during the offseason. Cardoso and fellow rookie Angel Reese should provide an immediate physicality in Chicago and are in a destination where they should be able to contribute right away. While the Sky retained frontcourt pieces Elizabeth Williams and Isabelle Harrison ahead of the 2024 campaign, Cardoso should see ample playing time and has the potential to be a solid fantasy contributor as a rookie if her physical style of play can translate to the WNBA.
