2025 Fantasy Outlook
An athletic, 6-foot-5 center fielder with plus power and plus-plus speed, Clarke raised his prospect stock significantly after a mechanical adjustment in the middle of 2024. From June on, Clarke slashed .303/.369/.489 with 10 home runs, 32 steals and a 24.9 percent strikeout rate in 84 games at Double-A. He had a .580 OPS and a 40.8 percent strikeout rate in his first 38 games, so his season line is less impressive. Clarke stayed dialed in during Arizona Fall League play, slashing .382/.495/.566 with two home runs and nine steals in 19 games. His play from June through the fall has rightfully generated some excitement for his fantasy potential, but it's worth noting that the AFL is an extremely hitter-friendly environment and Clarke was 1.8 years older than the average prospect in that league. He turns 25 in May and enters 2025 with zero experience at Triple-A. His 50.5 percent groundball rate at Double-A suppressed his power output, and his swing path along with his propensity to strike out could lead to early struggles against Triple-A pitching. Given Clarke's age, he'll be held to a high standard, but if the adjustments he made last season hold, he could make his big-league debut this summer. Read Past Outlooks

Back in action Sunday
Clarke (shoulder) is starting in center field and batting ninth Sunday against the Orioles.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old was withheld from the starting nine Saturday after he exited Friday's contest due to a bruised left shoulder, but he's ready to play after sitting out just one game. After going 1-for-19 with 15 strikeouts in his first six big-league games, Clarke has found his footing of late with one homer, three steals and a .333/.379/.481 slash line in his past eight contests. However, he still has a 41.4 percent strikeout rate during that latter stretch, so the production may not be sustainable.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A fourth-round selection out of Cal State Northridge in 2021, Clarke has quickly established himself as one of the top outfield prospects in the Oakland system. The 23-year-old looked like he could be on his way to making his MLB debut in 2023 after registering an .877 OPS with 12 homers and 11 stolen bases for Double-A Midland through 64 games, but a left shoulder strain saw his season come to an end in the middle of July. Clarke has easy plus speed, and while the 6-foot-5 outfielder will likely have contact issues throughout his career, his ability to make hard contact on top of well above-average power gives him a chance to be relevant in several fantasy categories. Assuming good health, Clarke has a real chance to play for Oakland in 2024, and he's someone who should be on radars in dynasty/keeper formats.
