NBA Pick'Em Today (Thursday, Feb. 5)

Houston Rockets vs. Charlotte Hornets: Amen Thompson over 28.5 points + rebounds + assists -- Underdog, 2 PM CT

Thompson is one of the most versatile guards in the league when it comes to racking up stats left and right, and while a red-hot Hornets team doesn't look like the best matchup right now, Thompson should find a way to produce steadily against a team that ranks 17th in the league in defensive rating (115.0). Thompson only had 19 P+R+A in the matchup against the Celtics on Wednesday, but he's been very productive as a stat-filling machine of late. He has recorded at least 30 P+R+A in eight of his last 10 games, so he should have a strong floor to reach this mark even if the Rockets are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James over 25.5 points + rebounds -- Pick6, 2 PM CT

The return of Austin Reaves from a calf injury means James will probably slide to a secondary role on offense, probably operating as the Lakers' No. 3 option behind both Reaves and Luka Doncic. However, that role hasn't stopped James from producing in the past. The star forward, who was recently named to the All-Star Game for the 22nd time in his career, is coming off a 25-point, seven-rebound, three-assist performance against the Nets on Tuesday. He has also notched at least 25.5 P+R in three of his last six games, but he also went on a stretch in which he hit this line in 11 consecutive outings between Jan. 3 and Jan. 23. James is averaging 23.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game since the beginning of January, so he should have a decent shot at hitting this line even with Reaves back in the mix.

Washington Wizards vs. Detroit Pistons: Alex Sarr over 26.5 points + rebounds + assists -- PrizePicks, 2 PM CT

Sarr recorded 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a blowout 132-101 loss to the New York Knicks in which he only logged 25 minutes. If he had more time on the court, the Frenchman would've probably reached that line rather easily. He gets another complicated matchup Thursday against the Pistons, who have the best record in the Eastern Conference, but Sarr has proven to be able to fill the stat sheet more often than not. Even though Sarr didn't reach his proposed P+R+A line in the loss to New York, it's worth noting that the second-year big man has hit this 26.5 P+R+A line in six of his last seven outings, so the mini slump he went through in early January seems to be a thing of the past now. In that seven-game span, Sarr is averaging 19.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest.
