After 214 days of waiting, college football is officially back for Week 0. With five games across Division 1, Iowa State and Kansas State open up the slate from Dublin, while Stanford and Hawaii close out college football's first day back.
Stanford will look to get out to a hot start in 2025 after finishing with just three wins in their debut season in the ACC a year ago. After such a disappointing season, the Cardinal parted ways with head coach Troy Taylor and revamped the program, bringing in former quarterback Andrew Luck to act as general manager. Luck's first move as GM was to bring in former head coach of the Colts and Panthers Frank Reich. While Stanford will look to right the ship with an NFL pedigree in their front office, Hawaii is looking to bounce back to the top of the Mountain West after finishing in eighth with just five wins a year ago.

Stanford vs Hawaii Betting Picks for Week 0
Hawaii comes into the season with a new face at quarterback. After three seasons of running the offense for the Rainbow Warriors, Brayden Schager graduated, opening the door for redshirt freshman Micah Alejado to take over. In four appearances a season ago, Alejado completed 49-of-70 passes for 585 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Alejado saw his only start in the season finale against New Mexico, where he completed 37-of-57 passes for 469 yards and five touchdowns. The Rainbow Warrior defense was also fairly stout a year ago, allowing 26 points per game, good for sixth in the Mountain West.
Stanford will also have a new face running the offense after two-year starter Ashton Daniels transferred to Auburn. Coming in to replace Daniels is Ben Gulbranson. Gulbranson transfers in from Oregon State, where he played in just the final four games a season ago, completing 60.9 percent of his passes for 943 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. Contributing to a lot of the Cardinal's struggles a year ago was a putrid defense that allowed an ACC-worst 33.7 points per game and 413.5 yards per game.

Stanford vs. Hawaii Predictions for Week 0
With lots of churn from last year for both sides, Stanford seems to have more of their work cut out for them despite the NFL pedigree brought in to run the show. Trying to rebuild the worst defense in their conference a year ago, along with trying to build up a quarterback who has not shown much promise throughout his college career, seems like a tall order for just one offseason. Though Alejado really only gave Hawaii one true game of action, he delivered more promise than Gulbranson has delivered over his four years of action. While Stanford may progress from a year ago this seems like it may be a tall task in just the first game of the season.
