2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hendrickson looked to be due for regression in 2024 after logging a career-high 17.5 sacks in 2023 - a number that far outpaced his underlying metrics such as quarterback hits. However, he instead repeated his 17.5 sack total and upped his quarterback hits to 36 and total quarterback pressures to a career-best mark of 83 in 2024. Those performances, combined with the explosion of the edge rusher market, have set the scene for a dramatic offseason. Hendrickson is entering the final season of his current contract and has stated he will not play in 2025 without a new deal, while the Bengals have yet to meet his demands. There's still time for the sides to find a resolution, but this is a situation to monitor as training camp nears. Read Past Outlooks

The Bengals will not place the franchise tag on Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) by Tuesday's 4:00 p.m. ET deadline, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hendrickson held out in advance of the 2025 campaign before agreeing to terms on a raise that boosted his salary to $30 million, but Cincinnati will now allow the veteran pass rusher to reach free agency. Injuries limited Hendrickson to just even regular-season appearances in 2025, in which span he tallied only 16 tackles (11 solo) including 4.0 sacks, plus one pass defensed and one forced fumble. Still, Hendrickson played all 17 regular-season games in both 2023 and 2024 and tallied 17.5 sacks each of those years, a demonstrable ceiling that will make the 31-year-old defensive end one of the top available free agent son the open market. He's recovering from core-muscle surgery undergone early December, but may already be fully healthy as that procedure carried only a six-week recovery timeframe.

2021
Hendrickson had the best season of his career in 2023 by nearly any measure. That began with his ability to stay on the field, as he managed to play a full season for the first time since 2021. The result was a career-high 714 defensive snaps, 17.5 sacks and 43 total tackles. Hendrickson's calling card remains his ability as a pass rusher, and he's finished no worse than 11th in quarterback pressures in each of the last three years (per PFF). While he's unlikely to replicate his sack total from last season, his ability to get to the quarterback consistently illustrates his ability to disrupt offenses and rack up production. Hendrickson's limitations as a defender against the run will cut out some of his upside relative to the elite defensive lineman, but there will be a nearly guaranteed level of production for anyone rostering him.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could get franchise tagged
Hendrickson might be prevented from reaching free agency by the Bengals with the franchise tag, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran edge rusher has been the center of offseason contract drama for multiple years running, and 2026 might prove to be no exception. The franchise tag would pay Hendrickson more than $30 million, which would seem to be out of Cincinnati's budget, and using it might just be a way for the team to extract value in a trade rather than simply let him walk.
