London Game: Rams vs. Jaguars

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

Quarterbacks

1.*Patrick Mahomes KC vs. LV
Note: Mahomes was on fire against the Lions and now draws the Raiders' leaky secondary.
2.Dak Prescott DAL vs. WAS
3.*Jayden Daniels WAS at DAL
Note: On one hand, we don't know which of Daniels' pass-catchers will be available, and Daniels had a sloppy game on Monday night. On the other hand, he gets the Cowboys this week. I think getting the Cowboys will be the controlling factor. ***Unfortunately it now looks like Daniels will be without McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Noah Brown, the latter being placed on IR.***
4.Drake Maye NE at TEN
5.*Caleb Williams CHI vs. NO
Note: Williams threw for only 252 yards in the win over the Commanders, but that also was in part due to the weather and because the rushing game went so well.
6.Jared Goff DET vs. TB
7.Jalen Hurts PHI at MIN
8.*Baker Mayfield TB at DET
Note: Mayfield had another sterling performance against the Niners despite losing Emeka Egbuka early in this one. The Bucs with no receivers will face the Lions with no defensive backs on Monday night.
9.Daniel Jones IND at LAC
10.Jordan Love GB at ARI
11.Justin Herbert LAC vs. IND
12.*Bryce Young CAR at NYJ
Note: Young was smooth in the win over the Cowboys, with the one interception coming on a ball that bounced off of Tet McMillan's hands.
13.Michael Penix ATL at SF
14.*Matthew Stafford LA at JAX
Note: Stafford was disappointing against the diluted Ravens, and now most likely won't have Puka Nacua against the Jaguars this weekend.
15.*Bo Nix DEN vs. NYG
Note: The Broncos used an extremely game plan against the Jets and it nearly came back to bite them. If you project Nix's numbers from the first six games (1,277 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions) across the full season, they're similar to his rookie numbers, but they just feel worse coming off of this disappointing outing.
16.Sam Darnold SEA vs. HOU
17.*Jaxson Dart NYG at DEN
Note: Dart was great Thursday night against the Eagles, but I think he'll struggle against the Broncos' pass rush this week.
18.Aaron Rodgers PIT at CIN
19.*Mac Jones SF vs. ATL
Note: The Niners will evaluate teammate Brock Purdy (toe) on Wednesday to determine whether he can practice this week. Jones (knee/oblique) was limited at Wednesday's practice, as was Brock Purdy. ***Jones will get another start, with Brock Purdy ruled out.***
20.Trevor Lawrence JAC vs. LAR
21.*Justin Fields NYJ vs. CAR
Note: Fields will remain the quarterback this week, despite 'taking a step back' against the Broncos. He'll be without teammate Garrett Wilson this week and perhaps longer.
22.C.J. Stroud HOU at SEA
23.*Joe Flacco CIN vs. PIT
Note: Flacco was really rough in the first half, but the Bengals actually looked like a real offense in the second half at least.
24.*Jacoby Brissett ARZ vs. GB
Note: It might not be the worst thing for the Cardinals if Brissett got another start and let Kyler Murray fully heal his foot. Teammate Kyler Murray was limited on Wednesday, and this situation remains up in the air. ***Brissett is expected to get another start.***
25.*Carson Wentz MIN vs. PHI
Note: Both Wentz (shoulder) and J.J. McCarthy (ankle) were able to practice Monday. It's not certain yet who will start for the Vikings. Wentz fully practiced Wednesday, and McCarthy was limited. ***Wentz will get another start this week, and Max Brosmer will be the backup, with J.J. McCarthy as the emergency No. 3 QB.***
26.Geno Smith LV at KC
27.Spencer Rattler NO at CHI
28.*Tua Tagovailoa MIA at CLE
Note: Tagovailoa threw three interceptions in the loss to the Chargers, albeit one on the last play of the game, and then had a weird press conference after the game. ***It's going to be windy and rainy for this game against the Browns in Cleveland.***
29.*Cam Ward TEN vs. NE
Note: The Titans either punted or turned the ball over on their first six drives against the Raiders last week. Ward will have a new coach this week after the Titans fired Brian Callahan.
30.*Dillon Gabriel CLE vs. MIA
Note: Gabriel threw a whopping 52 passes against the Steelers, most of them short and intermediate passes.
31.*J.J. McCarthy MIN vs. PHI
Note: McCarthy (ankle) practiced Monday for the first time since suffering his injury in Week 2. The Vikings haven't yet named a starter for this game against the Eagles. McCarthy was limited in Wednesday's practice. ***McCarthy will be the emergency No. 3 quarterback this week.***
32.*Kyler Murray ARZ vs. GB
Note: Murray has a version of plantar fasciitis in his foot and might miss Week 7 - the practice results will let us know whether he can go or not against the Packers. Murray was limited in Wednesday's walk-through practice, and his status for Sunday remains undetermined. ***Murray had three limited practices this week, and while he's still listed as questionable, he's not expected to play against the Packers.***
33.*Brock Purdy SF vs. ATL
Note: Purdy (toe) will be evaluated Wednesday to see whether he'll be able to practice this week. The Niners play on Sunday night this week, so a game-time decision scenario will be tricky. Both Purdy and Jones were limited at Wednesday's practice, but Purdy was 'more limited,' according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. ***Purdy has been ruled out again this week.***
34.Josh Allen BUF at
35.Lamar Jackson BAL at
36.Cooper Rush BAL at

Running Backs

1.Christian McCaffrey SF vs. ATL
2.Bijan Robinson ATL at SF
3.Jonathan Taylor IND at LAC
4.Saquon Barkley PHI at MIN
5.Jahmyr Gibbs DET vs. TB
6.*Quinshon Judkins CLE vs. MIA
Note: I think that the Browns went away from the run too soon last week, and also should have involved Judkins in the passing game more. I think that will get corrected against Miami.
7.*Rico Dowdle CAR at NYJ
Note: Dowdle's teammate Chuba Hubbard (calf) has had back-to-back limited practices so far this week and could return, but I suspect that the starting job is now Dowdle's. ***Teammate Chuba Hubbard has been cleared to play. Coach Dave Canales would not reveal who will be the lead back Sunday against the Jets.***
8.De'Von Achane MIA at CLE
9.*Javonte Williams DAL vs. WAS
Note: For the second week in a row, the Panthers shut down an opposing RB, holding Williams to 29 yards on 13 carries.
10.Kyren Williams LA at JAX
11.Ashton Jeanty LV at KC
12.Cam Skattebo NYG at DEN
13.*Josh Jacobs GB at ARI
Note: Jacobs has been limited in practice this week due to an illness. ***Even though Jacobs fully practiced Friday, he is listed as questionable and considered a true game-time decision. Should he be forced to sit out or be limited, it would result in Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks getting more playing time.***
14.*Rachaad White TB at DET
Note: White gets another start this week, with Bucky Irving (shoulder) 'not in line to play' as declared by Todd Bowles on Monday.
15.*Jaylen Warren PIT at CIN
Note: I bumped up Warren 9 spots on Thursday - I like the matchup quite a bit against the Bengals.
16.Kenneth Walker SEA vs. HOU
17.J.K. Dobbins DEN vs. NYG
18.*D'Andre Swift CHI vs. NO
Note: Swift (groin) was limited at Thursday's practice. ***Swift was limited again on Friday and is listed as questionable, though he's expected to play.***
19.Travis Etienne JAC vs. LAR
20.*Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS at DAL
Note: Croskey-Merritt lost one fumble and was involved in a second one late in the loss to the Bears that was attributed (rightfully so) to Jayden Daniels.
21.Breece Hall NYJ vs. CAR
22.Kimani Vidal LAC vs. IND
23.Jordan Mason MIN vs. PHI
24.*Alvin Kamara NO at CHI
Note: Kamara (ankle) received a maintenance day from practice Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. ***Kamara fully practiced Friday and has been cleared from the injury list.***
25.Tony Pollard TEN vs. NE
26.Rhamondre Stevenson NE at TEN
27.*David Montgomery DET vs. TB
Note: Montgomery had a passing touchdown overturned on a procedural penalty.
28.*Bam Knight ARZ vs. GB
Note: Knight (knee) was limited Wednesday but upgraded to a full practice Thursday.
29.Isiah Pacheco KC vs. LV
30.*Chase Brown CIN vs. PIT
Note: Brown barely out-snapped Samaje Perine, getting 33 snaps to 29 for Perine.
31.*Kareem Hunt KC vs. LV
Note: Hunt's playing time is starting to recede, and he even was out of the game at times at the goal line last week. It's worth noting that it appeared that Hunt was getting looked at by team trainers at one point in the game.
32.Tyler Allgeier ATL at SF
33.Kendre Miller NO at CHI
34.TreVeyon Henderson NE at TEN
35.Nick Chubb HOU at SEA
36.Zach Charbonnet SEA vs. HOU
37.*Emanuel Wilson GB at ARI
Note: ***Wilson could be in line for more work, due to Josh Jacobs dealing with an illness.***
38.Woody Marks HOU at SEA
39.*Kenneth Gainwell PIT at CIN
Note: Gainwell reverted to a backup role against the Browns, though it was a backup-plus role, with him getting six carries and six catches. Jaylen Warren sat out most of the fourth quarter, with Gainwell and Kaleb Johnson splitting the duties.
40.Michael Carter ARZ vs. GB
41.Bhayshul Tuten JAC vs. LAR
42.*Hassan Haskins LAC vs. IND
Note: ***Haskins (chest) was added to the injury list on Thursday, and is listed as questionable.***
43.Ollie Gordon MIA at CLE
44.RJ Harvey DEN vs. NYG
45.*Brian Robinson SF vs. ATL
Note: Robinson played only five offensive snaps in the loss to the Bucs.
46.Sean Tucker TB at DET
47.Tyrone Tracy NYG at DEN
48.Zavier Scott MIN vs. PHI
49.*Kyle Monangai CHI vs. NO
Note: With D'Andre Swift having a massive game, Monangai carried the ball just five times and had a nice catch for 25 yards.
50.Isaiah Davis NYJ vs. CAR
51.Tyjae Spears TEN vs. NE
52.Jeremy McNichols WAS at DAL
53.*Chris Brooks GB at ARI
Note: ***Brooks would be the change-of-pace back behind Emanuel Wilson, should Josh Jacobs (illness) sit out.***
54.Trevor Etienne CAR at NYJ
55.Devin Singletary NYG at DEN
56.*Jerome Ford CLE vs. MIA
Note: Ford has been identified as a potential trade deadline candidate.
57.*Chris Rodriguez WAS at DAL
Note: Rodriguez (calf) was active Monday night but played only one offensive snap. Rodriguez (calf) has missed the first two practices this week. ***Rodriguez fully practiced Friday and has been cleared from the injury list.***
58.Brashard Smith KC vs. LV
59.Samaje Perine CIN vs. PIT
60.*Blake Corum LA at JAX
Note: Corum is day-to-day with the ankle injury suffered in the win over the Ravens. Corum sat out Wednesday's practice and was limited on Thursday. ***Corum had a full practice Friday and was cleared from the injury list.***
61.Raheem Mostert LV at KC
62.AJ Dillon PHI at MIN
63.*Jaydon Blue DAL vs. WAS
Note: Blue played only five offensive snaps in the loss to Carolina.
64.Dylan Sampson CLE vs. MIA
65.Kaleb Johnson PIT at CIN
66.DJ Giddens IND at LAC
67.Tahj Brooks CIN vs. PIT
68.LeQuint Allen JAC vs. LAR
69.*Emari Demercado ARZ vs. GB
Note: Demercado suffered an ankle injury early in the loss to the Colts. Demercado has not yet practiced this week. ***Demercado will sit out this week.***
70.*Chuba Hubbard CAR at NYJ
Note: Hubbard (calf) has participated in back-to-back limited practices this week and is aiming to return to action, but what sort of role will he be stepping back into? ***Hubbard has been cleared from the injury list, but the Panthers haven't revealed who will be the lead back.***
71.*Bucky Irving TB at DET
Note: Irving (shoulder) is 'not in line to play' Monday night against the Lions, according to coach Todd Bowles. ***Irving has officially been ruled out for Monday night.***

3.Jaxon Smith-Njigba SEA vs. HOU
4.Justin Jefferson MIN vs. PHI
5.Ja'Marr Chase CIN vs. PIT
6.Drake London ATL at SF
7.*CeeDee Lamb DAL vs. WAS
Note: The Cowboys are 'hopeful' about Lamb (ankle) returning this week. Lamb has had two limited practices so far. If he upgrades to full practice or is otherwise assured of returning this week, he'll immediately go back to the top 10. ***Lamb had a full practice Friday and has been cleared from the injury list.***
8.Nico Collins HOU at SEA
9.*George Pickens DAL vs. WAS
Note: ***Pickens only goes down a couple of slots with CeeDee Lamb returning.***
10.*Rome Odunze CHI vs. NO
Note: Odunze should have had a better fantasy night, but for a touchdown overturned by a penalty.

41.*Matthew Golden GB at ARI
Note: Golden had over 100 combined receiving and rushing yards in the win over the Bengals.
42.Troy Franklin DEN vs. NYG
43.*Luther Burden CHI vs. NO
Note: Burden will likely get more targets if D.J. Moore (groin) is sidelined.
44.Sterling Shepard TB at DET
45.*Mike Evans TB at DET
Note: Evans (hamstring) is hopeful to return this week. We'll see what his level of practice activity is beginning on Thursday. Evans returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday. If he returns to action on Monday, I'll slot him somewhere between 20-30. ***This is a tricky one - Evans got a rest day on Friday, was limited on Saturday, and is considered a game-time decision for the first of the two Monday night games. I think I'd need to have a pivot on Monday if I'm going to consider starting him.***
46.*Chris Moore WAS at DAL
Note: ***Moore had three catches for 46 yards and a touchdown Monday night, and could be frequently targeted against Dallas with Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Noah Brown all out.***

52.Malik Washington MIA at CLE
53.Jalen Tolbert DAL vs. WAS

55.Tez Johnson TB at DET
56.*Kameron Johnson TB at DET

Note: Johnston (hamstring) fully practiced Thursday after being limited Wednesday.
61.Isaiah Bond CLE vs. MIA
62.*Jakobi Meyers LV at KC
Note: I probably should start ranking Tucker over Meyers, but I'm going to wait one more week. 83.Tyler Lockett TEN vs. NE
84.Mack Hollins NE at TEN
85.*Emeka Egbuka TB at DET
Note: Egbuka (hamstring) is expected to miss time after getting injured in the first half against the Niners. Egbuka didn't practice on Thursday. ***Egbuka hasn't officially been ruled out. He sat out the first two practices of the week, but he had a limited practice Saturday and is a game-time decision.***

9.Jaxon Smith-Njigba SEA vs. HOU
10.*Rico Dowdle CAR at NYJ
Note: Dowdle's teammate Chuba Hubbard (calf) has had back-to-back limited practices so far this week and could return, but I suspect that the starting job is now Dowdle's. ***Teammate Chuba Hubbard has been cleared to play. Coach Dave Canales would not reveal who will be the lead back Sunday against the Jets.***
