2025 Fantasy Outlook
Marks (5-foot-10, 207 pounds) might not have the anchor or strength to thrive on power concepts, but he could make his mark in the NFL as a pass catcher. He played more passing-down snaps in two years at Mississippi State than most running backs do in four years of college, and he then became a three-down back in his one season at USC, running for 1,133 yards at 5.7 yards per carry. As much as it's unlikely that Marks steals many carries from starter Joe Mixon, the fourth-round rookie has the skillset to plug into almost any game situation, potentially making him valuable as a backup. The Texans have other options there, namely Dameon Pierce and Nick Chubb, but both have primarily handled early downs throughout their respective NFL careers. Marks offers something different, and his status as a fourth-round pick all but guarantees a roster spot for at least one year. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Picked up by Texans
The Texans selected Marks in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 116th overall.
ANALYSIS
The Texans traded a 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2026 third-round pick in exchange for this pick and a 2025 seventh-round pick. Marks led Mississippi State in rushing yards during the 2022 and 2023 seasons before heading to USC for his fifth year. The Georgia native earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors at USC by recording 1,133 yards (5.7 YPC) and nine touchdowns in addition to 47 receptions for 321 yards. Marks measured in at 5-foot-10, 207 pounds at the NFL Combine while adding a 4.54 40-yard dash to his resume. While he'll turn 25 years old during his rookie season, Marks is a sturdy runner and will look to earn a role as a pass catcher, although he'll face stiff competition from Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and J.J. Taylor for those duties behind lead back Joe Mixon.

Pass-catching role with Houston?
Marks will have stiff competition for the Texans' RB2 job behind Joe Mixon, but the USC product could carve out a pass-catching role out of the backfield for himself with a strong offseason and training camp, Mike Clay of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Marks will compete against Dare Ogunbowale and Dameon Pierce for the primary backup role behind Mixon. Marks turned 198 carries into 1,133 yards and nine touchdowns in his final season at USC, but his career 2.4 yards after contact per carry, coupled with an underwhelming showing at the NFL Combine, caused him to slip to the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Marks was a formidable pass catcher out of the backfield during his five-year college career, which gives him an opportunity to carve a role for himself in the Texans' offense.
