Brian Thomas

22-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Selected 23rd overall last year, Thomas came out of the gate strong and only got better, erasing any concerns about the modest target shares he had at LSU while sharing the field with Malik Nabers. Thomas had 397 yards and three TDs in five games before celebrating his 22nd birthday last October, and while he then went through a mini-slump, his final six games were one of the most productive stretches ever by a rookie wide receiver. Undeterred by the presence of backup QB Mac Jones, the 6-foot-3 rookie with 4.33 speed ripped off six straight games with at least 10 targets and 76 yards -- all while accounting for five of Jacksonville's eight receiving TDs after a Week 12 bye. His average of 8.5 yards per target during that stretch was impressive, considering defenses had little else to worry about and otherwise had no trouble shutting down Jones. The talent around Thomas will be much better this season, with QB Trevor Lawrence coming back healthy, two new starters signed for the interior O-line and two-way star Travis Hunter added with the No. 2 overall pick. A more well-rounded offense under new coach Liam Coen may limit Thomas to 8-9 targets per game rather than the 11.7 he averaged after a Week 12 bye last year, but it also improves Thomas' chances to avoid efficiency regression (or even improve upon his 2024 per-target numbers). Finds end zone in tough day
WRJacksonville Jaguars
September 7, 2025
Thomas caught one of seven targets for 11 yards and took his only carry nine yards for a touchdown in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
It was a frustrating start to his second NFL season for Thomas, but he salvaged his day with a TD on an end-around in the second quarter. Better days will be ahead for the LSU product as the Jaguars adjust to new coach Liam Coen's scheme, but the 1-11-0 line is already worse than Thomas had in any game as a rookie. He'll look for bigger volume and better production on the road Week 2 against the Bengals.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Thomas was a late-rising prospect, with his stock largely driven by a 1,177-yard, 17-TD junior season and then a standout performance at the 2024 Scouting Combine. He had only 720 yards and seven touchdowns over his previous two seasons at LSU, even though he made nine starts as a true freshman after coming in as a four-star recruit. Being part of the same class as mega prospect Malik Nabers was one factor in Thomas' lack of volume prior to 2023, though the other guys they competed with for WR snaps/targets were mostly late-round picks (Trey Palmer, Kayshon Boutte) or non-prospects (Jaray Jenkins, Jack Bech) and Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels helped everyone in 2022-23. Even the 17-TD season saw Thomas sitting 41 targets and 392 yards shy of Nabers, with a 21.8 percent target share (compared to Nabers' 31.9). While the on-field production thus raises questions about his ability to command targets, Thomas went 23rd overall to Jacksonville after running a 4.33 40-yard dash at 6-3, 209. He also did reasonably well in his other combine drills with a 38.5-inch vertical and 126-inch broad jump, and he's slightly on the young side for a rookie (turning 22 in November). It is possible that Thomas ends up more useful to the Jaguars than fantasy managers, as he and Gabe Davis could spend a lot of time clearing out safeties for WR Christian Kirk, TE Evan Engram and RB Travis Etienne. On the other hand, Thomas has the physical traits one looks for in a true No. 1 WR, giving him a much better best-case scenario than players like Kirk and Davis.
