Cook agreed to terms Monday on a three-year, $40.25 million contract with the Bengals, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Cook solidified himself as a starter at safety for the Chiefs in 2024 and further built on that success in 2025, when he totaled 85 tackles (50 solo) and six passes defensed while suiting up for all 17 regular-season games. Past Fantasy Outlooks

2024
2023
Cook emerged as a 17-game starter for the first time in his NFL career in 2024, racking up 78 tackles (55 solo) and five pass breakups (including two picks) in the regular season. He also started all three of Kansas City's playoff appearances, picking off Jalen Hurts in a Super Bowl loss that saw Steve Spagnuolo's defense otherwise struggle to make plays. Alongside 2024 fourth-rounder Jaden Hicks, who appears primed for a notable Year 2 leap, Cook is entrenched as a quality starter at safety for the Chiefs.
A second-round selection out of Cincinnati in 2022, Cook has seen plenty of action in his first two seasons and has acquitted himself reasonably well, notching 42 tackles (26 solo), an interception and two fumble recoveries over 12 games in 2023 before an ankle injury landed him on injured reserve. With Mike Edwards joining the Bills this offseason as a free agent, a starting job is well within reach for Cook entering the 2024 campaign.
Cook finished the 2022 season with 33 total tackles, two passes defended and one sack across 16 games. With Juan Thornhill leaving Kansas City to sign with the Browns this offseason, Cook figures to step into a starting free safety role after a solid rookie season. The 23-year-old has grabbed the attention of the Chiefs' coaching staff during training camp thus far for his growth and leadership.
