2025 Fantasy Outlook
Vele is the second-oldest player from the 2024 NFL Draft, having turned 27 in December of his rookie season. He contributed far more than a typical seventh-round pick, posting a 41-475-3 receiving line while serving as Denver's slot receiver for much of the year. That may be about where he maxes out, however, as he never reached 700 yards in a season during his collegiate career at Utah and tested as a merely average athlete at the 2024 Combine (4.47 40 and 36-inch vertical at 6-foot-4, 203 pounds). With their other young wideouts developing nicely, the Broncos traded Vele to New Orleans in August, receiving fourth-and seventh-round picks in return. The Saints have Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed locked in as their starting wideouts, potentially leaving Vele to compete with Brandin Cooks for the No. 3 job. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Not playing Week 3
Vele (hip) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Vele logged a limited practice both Thursday and Friday due to a hip injury, and the issue is bothersome enough to keep out of Sunday's contest. The second-year wideout caught just two passes on four targets for 16 yards during the Saints' first two games, but his absence will nonetheless reduce the depth of the team's wideout corps. Mason Tipton could get more work on offense as a result.

Vele was selected by the Broncos in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he joins a receiving corps looking to take a step forward with some new faces in town. The wideout had success at Utah, taking advantage of his 6-4, 203-pound frame and 4.47 speed. If Vele can acclimate to the NFL quickly, he could carve out a role in Denver based on his size and athletic ability. He'll face competition to secure a spot on the team in a depth role, so Vele will need to earn a spot on the roster without requiring a huge amount of development as a 26-year old rookie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Lands in New Orleans via trade
Vele was acquired from the Broncos by the Saints on Wednesday in exchange for two draft picks, Katherine Terrell and Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com report.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos received a 2026 fourth-round pick and 2027 seventh-round selection, a very solid return for a 2024 seventh-round pick, as Vele was. The Utah product was impressive as a rookie after somewhat surprisingly latching on to a roster spot, recording a 41-475-3 receiving line over 13 regular-season games, seven of which were starts. The 6-foot-5 Vele will bring much-needed size to a Saints receiving corps whose top three options -- Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks -- are all six feet tall or shorter.
