2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Williams had an interesting second pro season. He led the Bills with 117 total tackles, yet ended the year playing between zero and 30 percent of defensive snaps in six of the team's final nine games (including the playoffs). In particular, he is a dreadful in pass coverage, leaving him as a two-down linebacker at best. Heading into 2025, his ability to replicate last season's results will likely come down to the health and role of Matt Milano, who restructured his deal this offseason to both shorten its length and take a pay cut. That's a positive sign that Williams' role will be more consistent in 2025 on early downs or run-heavy game scripts for opponents, but his downside far outweighs his upside until he improves in coverage. Working through calf injury
Williams (calf) did not participate in Friday's practice, Alex Brasky of SB Nation reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams injured his calf during a drill Thursday and was held out of Friday's session. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but given it's training camp, the Bills will likely play it conservatively with Williams, who hasn't missed a game since entering the league in 2023. He finished the 2024 regular season with 117 tackles (68 solo), one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries across 17 games.

Williams logged 40 tackles in 17 regular-season games (two starts) with the Bills as a third-round rookie in 2023. Looking ahead, the Tulane product has an opportunity to see an expanded role in his second pro campaign now that Matt Milano is slated to miss extended time with a biceps injury.

Set for expanded role?
Williams, who finished Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Jaguars with four tackles and a pass deflection, could be in line for more defensive snaps moving forward, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Matt Milano is expected to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his leg.
ANALYSIS
Williams was able to match his season tackle total Sunday following Milano's exit. The Bills selected Williams in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft as a replacement for Tremaine Edmunds and to bolster the linebacker corps, though the rookie could see more playing time with injuries devastating the Bills' defense just five games into the season. Head coach Sean McDermott noted after the game that he and the coaching staff were "confident" in Williams and applauded him for being able to perform on short notice. The rookie out of Tulane should see a lot more practice reps in the coming week as the Bills host the Giants in Week 6.
