Shoulder issue seemingly not severe
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that he doesn't expect Forbes' shoulder injury to impact his availability for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against Seattle, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Forbes hurt his shoulder early in Sunday's divisional-round win over the Bears and ended up logging just four defensive snaps, though he was never officially ruled out from returning. McVay's comment Monday suggests that Forbes' issue isn't serious, so he's trending toward being available against the Seahawks. Still, Forbes' level of participation in practice this week should help determine whether he'll get an injury designation heading into the weekend.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Forbes is an unusual cornerback prospect in terms of both size (166 pounds at the 2023 Combine) and collegiate production (14 INTs returned for 390 yards and six TDs in three seasons). Running a 4.35 40 at the combine helped alleviate concerns about the size, and Washington bit with the 16th overall pick in April's draft. Forbes isn't likely to make a ton of tackles but could have value in IDP leagues that slant the scoring more toward takeaways, pass defenses and return touchdowns.

Getting fresh start
Forbes regularly worked with the starters during mandatory minicamp, John Keim of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Forbes had a disappointing rookie season in 2023, as he started only six games due to a combination of poor performance and injury. However, he'll get a fresh start with a new coaching staff, and he worked this offseason to gain more strength, allowing him to better match up with physical receivers within the division such as Philadelphia's A.J. Brown. The Commanders did add Michael Davis this offseason, who could challenge Forbes for a starting job at outside corner.
