Neck
February 21, 2026
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that it is unlikely that Owusu-Koramoah will play in the NFL again due to a neck injury he sustained in October of 2024.
ANALYSIS
Owusu-Koramoah sustained a serious neck injury that season while attempting to tackle running back Derrick Henry, which resulted in the former being carted off the field. Owusu-Koramoah was sidelined for the entire 2025 season, and it appears as though the injury will prevent the 2021 second-rounder from playing another NFL snap. If that is the case, he would end his NFL career with 308 total tackles, including 8.0 sacks, 17 pass defenses (three interceptions) and six forced fumbles across 49 regular-season games, along with a Pro Bowl selection in 2023.

2022
The much-anticipated breakout of Owusu-Koramoah happened in 2023. He was able to stay fully healthy for the first time in three years since being taken in the second round of the 2021 draft. Owusu-Koramoah graded out as the Browns' best linebacker and led the team with 101 tackles while picking off the first two passes of his career. He has range from sideline to sideline and looks to improve in coverage (85.1 percent reception rate). Owusu-Koramoah will serve as a starter at outside linebacker while free agent Jordan Hicks takes over the middle and leads the linebacking room.
Owusu-Koramoah has made his mark in the NFL after only two seasons, serving as a starter for the majority of that time. Since, he's excelled in a number of areas, racking up a combined 146 tackles across 25 career games. Owusu-Koramoah has also shown strong playmaking ability, including four forced fumbles and eight passes defended in his career. The primary issue to hold him back has been his health, as he missed three games in 2021 and six games in 2022 with an assortment of ankle, knee and foot injuries. He's been declared healthy heading into the new campaign, so he should have the chance to take a step forward. Owusu-Koramoah is among the strongest candidates for a breakout season in the IDP pool.
Owusu-Koramoah is a polished cover linebacker, and those skills come at no expense to his run-stopping abilities. As a rookie, he had 76 tackles and 1.5 sacks on 565 snaps while earning strong marks in coverage. His tackle rate implies a return of around 130 tackles per 1,000 snaps, and a workload in that range should be on his plate in Year 2. Plus, he has the skills to be an effective blitzer.
