2025 Fantasy Outlook
A second-round pick in the 2024 Draft, Melton was a regular outside cornerback in the Cardinals secondary last season, starting three of 17 games en route to finishing third at his position on the team with 51 tackles. After picking off eight passes in four years at Rutgers, Melton is in search of his first interception in the NFL, which will be helped by the fact he's now penciled in to a starting role after Starling Thomas tore his ACL in training camp. Cleared for Week 3
Melton (knee) is active for Sunday's clash against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Melton exited last Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a knee injury but was able to log three limited practices this week. He entered the weekend deemed questionable to play but will ultimately be able to suit up as one of the Cardinals' starting cornerbacks for Sunday's NFC West battle between 2-0 teams.

In 43 games (40 starts) in four years at Rutgers, Melton was a general menace on defense and special teams alike, recording 114 tackles (nine for loss), eight interceptions among 22 pass defenses, four fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and four blocked punts. When combined with a 4.39 40 time at the 2024 Combine, it was enough for the Cardinals to select him in the second round of this year's draft, 43rd overall. Melton shouldn't have a problem getting on the field as a rookie on the outside, in the slot or on punt coverage.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Opportunity knocks in coming season
Melton, a 2024 second-round pick, could see increased opportunity at outside cornerback in the coming season in the wake of Sean Murphy-Bunting being placed on the non-football injury list Thursday, The Associated Press and Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com report.
ANALYSIS
Melton saw plenty of action in a rotational role as a rookie, playing in all 17 regular-season games and recording 51 total tackles, five defensed passes and one forced fumble across 545 defensive snaps. Melton could be in line to see that workload bump up further in his second campaign, as Murphy-Bunting's now-confirmed absence for the entirety of the 2025 season theoretically frees up 698 snaps that the latter absorbed last season.
