Chiefs add Round 2 defensive tackle
DTKansas City Chiefs
April 25, 2025
The Chiefs selected Norman-Lott in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 63rd overall.
ANALYSIS
Norman-Lott (6-foot-2, 291 pounds) notably never started in college, instead playing as a specialist on passing downs at both Tennessee (2023-24) and Arizona State (2020-22). Norman-Lott was fairly productive in this specialist capacity, but it's still odd and probably concerning that he never got the chance to do more on the field. Norman-Lott is athletic for a 290-pounder, boasting a 31.5-inch vertical jump and 113-inch broad jump, so it will be interesting to see if the Chiefs try to tap into something more than what Norman-Lott showed at the college level.

Working with All-Pro Jones in camp
DTKansas City Chiefs
July 26, 2025
Norman-Lott has been getting several reps with the first-team defense during the early sessions of training camp, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's worth noting that Norman-Lott -- the Chiefs' second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft -- didn't serve as a starter during his five-year college career. That doesn't appear to be an issue for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who has frequently deployed Norman-Lott alongside veteran Chris Jones during team drills. Jones has taken on a mentor role and told reporters after Wednesday's practice that Norman-Lott has "a lot of raw talent" and is "going to be a great asset for the D-line."
