Rankins and the Texans reunited during the offseason, as the 31-year-old defensive tackle climbed aboard on a one-year contract. He was a stout mainstay on Houston's front line in 2023, when he recorded 29 tackles and 6.0 sacks. Houston wanted him back for 2024 but were outbid. Rankins, who missed the final seven games of 2024 with a non-football illness, will rejoin the rotation at DT where the Texans currently have Folorunso Fatukasi, Mario Edwards and Tim Settle.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Time could be up in Cincy
The Bengals could choose to cut Rankins this offseason, Matt Okada of NFL.com suggests.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals signed Rankins to a two-year, $24.5 million contract last offseason, but he endured a difficult 2024 campaign. He appeared in only seven games and failed to make much impact when on the field. Cutting Rankins would save the Bengals $9.6 million, which could be key considering the team's desire to re-sign Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson to long-term deals.
