Simply said, Tiger Woods made hay while doing what he does best.
His 75th TOUR win was attained where he has won most often, Torrey Pines.

These 36 wins are 48 percent of Woods' 75 career victories.

• Woods was second off the tee (307 yards) and first in putts-per-GIR (1.66) and 11th in putts-per-round (28.5)
• He negated his two double-bogeys with two eagles.
• His 21 birdies led the field, and his seven bogeys tied with only two others in the top-14 finishers.
Overall, Woods again gave us another highlight-reel performance, never mind the last few holes when the win was already locked up.

The venue here is par-71 TPC Scottsdale. Recent winning scores range from 14-under to 18-under.
Kyle Stanley lost to Brandt Snedeker in a one-hole playoff in last year's Farmers Insurance Open, the week before the Phoenix Open. This followed his triple bogey at the 72nd hole that wiped out his three-shot lead.
After that crushing experience. Stanley performed a gutsy bounce-back in winning the Phoenix Open by a shot over Ben Crane.
While Stanley redeemed himself, Spencer Levin blew a 54-hole, six-stroke lead, which he wiped out with a closing-round 75. Levin finished third at 13-under.
Attendance for the four days here is considered to be the largest in the PGA Tour season. At the raucous, par-3 16th it was estimated that 15,000 fans surrounded this amphitheater-type hole during the third round last year. The fans are considered to be the loudest and most enthusiastic on the PGA Tour.
The 16th has 177 sky boxes, the driveable 17th has 29 sky boxes and the 18th has 26.

All TPC courses need driving accuracy , excellent GIR, wedge play, chipping and putting. All of these are needed here plus three-putt avoidance and course management. Last year was the fourth consecutive year the winner was in the top three in GIR.
