How to Use Fixture Analysis in FPL

Why Fixture Runs Matter More After Gameweek 22

When assessing teams with favourable upcoming fixtures, the goal is not just to target one-week punts, but to identify clubs that offer multiple viable FPL assets across attack and defence. These teams are ideal for:

  • Rolling transfers
  • Building Free Hit drafts
  • Targeting clean sheet runs
  • Identifying budget enablers with secure minutes

Best Teams With Upcoming Fixtures in FPL (GW22–GW26)

Chelsea: Major Fixture Swing From Gameweek 24

Chelsea are the side with the most obvious fixture swing in the coming weeks. A home match against Brentford is followed by a tricky trip to Crystal Palace, but from Gameweek 24 onwards, the schedule becomes extremely attractive with West Ham, Wolves, Leeds and Burnley in succession.

It's difficult to pin down the standout picks right now due to the new manager Liam Rosenior and heavy fixture congestion, which makes minutes harder to predict. Cole Palmer's fitness remains uncertain, and there are still questions around whether Enzo Fernandez will operate as the No. 10 or deeper. Chelsea's defence is also one to monitor closely, with Trevoh Chalobah potentially emerging as a budget option once the rotation picture becomes clearer.

Crystal Palace: Improved Fixtures After Difficult Run

After a demanding run of fixtures, Palace finally get some breathing room. The schedule lightens up from Gameweek 22 onwards, which should help their attacking assets.

Jean-Philippe Mateta could return to the conversation, particularly with Eddie Nketiah sidelined. Ismaila Sarr and Daniel Munoz are also worth tracking as they return from AFCON duty and injury, respectively. At the back, Chris Richards stands out as a possible bargain at just £4.4m, offering a cheap route into a defence that should benefit from kinder matchups.

Bournemouth: Set-Piece Value and Budget Enablers

The Cherries are another team coming out of a difficult stretch into a far more favourable period. Marcus Tavernier is the name that immediately jumps out. He takes set pieces, is likely on penalties with Justin Kluivert injured and Antoine Semenyo gone, and costs only £5.5m, making him a very flexible midfield option.

Junior Kroupi could also become a useful enabler with injuries opening up minutes, although his role is not fully secure yet. In defence, Marcos Senesi remains the standout, sitting top for defensive contributions and offering a reliable four-point floor in most matches.

Arsenal: Elite Defence and Potential Double Gameweek

Arsenal's next four fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Leeds and Sunderland are hard to ignore. Their defence remains the strongest in the league, both in goals conceded and underlying numbers. There is also the possibility of a double Gameweek in 26, which adds further appeal.

Targeting three from David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel and Bukayo Saka makes sense, with a double up in defence looking increasingly close to essential.

Aston Villa: Consistent Returns With Favourable Fixtures

Villa face a challenging trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 23, but otherwise their schedule is favourable. Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers are the obvious attacking options, while Youri Tielemans could emerge as a cheap differential. Matty Cash is also worth consideration due to his set-piece involvement and steady attacking threat from right-back.

Final Thoughts: Best Teams to Target in FPL From Gameweek 22

Targeting teams with favourable upcoming fixtures remains one of the most reliable ways to generate consistent returns in Fantasy Premier League. Chelsea and Arsenal headline the list for sustained upside, while Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa offer a mix of value, differentials and budget enablers.

These fixture runs are best used alongside predicted lineups, injury news and chip strategy to maximise points over the next five Gameweeks.
